Bible Story Series. Not Arthur Maxwell

My Uncle had a series of HARDCOVER, Black, books. They were not clothbound as are many hardcovers, but similar to the covers of Yearbooks. ( if we suppose that yearbooks are still made from such a thing ) In other words, really hard covers. lol

There may or may not have been a colored inset on each cover; but, there were colored illustrations, throughout. The kind you find in older encyclopedias, that are kind of shiny paintings.

There was at least one boy and one girl, but there may have been other children and somebody told them Bible Stories. Either an Uncle or a Grandfather. My Uncle was born before 1925- possibly as far back as 1917. So these books most likely were from the 20's or 30's. Maybe into the 40's, but I think that would be pushing it, because he was probably in the Navy during the 40's.

I just devoured these books. Simpler times

>3 EGBERTINA: Where the pics of Bible stories or of the children and storyteller? Did the books tell anything else going on in their lives or was each book or chapter a Bible story which started with the children gathering around for storytelling?

There were rather superlative pictures, though not tons. I believe that there were other details, though they do not come to mind, readily. The stories that the relative told might have come about in correlation to something happening in the children's lives?????

I'm not certain, it was a book in the sense of each chapter leading to another. I think ??? Each chapter focused on a different story. It is difficult to be certain.
