When adding a book from Amazon.com source, page counts show correctly in the search results, but when added to a collection, the page counts are not pulled into the book details.

If you look at your book information, I think you will see that adding a book using Amazon as a source no longer imports page counts. At least that has been my experience.

Hmm, I'm seeing recently added books of my own from Amazon that have page counts. I was adding by ISBN, for what it's worth.

>1 EDK916: Have you got a couple of recent examples of books where you're not seeing the page data? How were you adding: what page/method were you using to add your books (i.e. the "Add books" page, the LibraryThing App, etc.), and what was your exact search to bring up the book/s for adding? I can dig further into this.

huh. I use the app to scan the isbn of my books, and I have not seen page counts been added for several months. I just figured that Amazon quit providing that data. I just tried adding War Lord by Bernard Cornwell and it says the page number in the publication field, but not the page number field.

>4 al.vick: ah yes, that's where I was looking: the publication field. So, they used to add into the page number field directly, is that right?

>5 kristilabrie: They (Amazon) used to add to the page number field directly, yes. But they haven't been since maybe August or September? That's a guess on the date. They stopped adding to the number-of-volumes field as well.

Okay, thanks for the extra details! Will check to make sure there's nothing we can do about that.

Assigning to Lucy.

So the way you go about this is to dig down to find the actual Amazon request. Get it and see if page numbers are in there or not. Perhaps they changed the API structure. Perhaps they're fine and we broke something else.

Once you know that, talk to me.

Fix that was put in for this caused another problem (https://www.librarything.com/topic/330319); will need to re-examine that fix, so this problem is still happening.

This appears to be fixed. Please re-open if it is still happening.
