Basically LibraryThing is a way to manage your own library. You won't find any actual books, but just information about them (and their authors, and a lot of data).

It looks like you have already started adding books - good.

You may want to add tags to your books - which lets you segment your library and interact with it better. For example you can add the tag fantasy to your copy of Eragon.

https://www.librarything.com/quickstart.php gives a short overview of the site and is very useful to get the basic layout and features clearer. Beyond that, keep adding your books and ask away about anything in particular that's confusing.

Hi Maddy!

Another way to find out ways to make LT work for you: look at other members' libraries. You will be able to see how different people use tags and collections, which gave me some ideas for my own library. You can change the columns, column order and sorting when you look at lists. Click the Style options (A..E) to see the standards each user has set (NB, not everyone changes the defaults), or click Settings to vary the columns shown in each style. If you look at mine, you will see that I use Collections to identify physical locations (places in my house, other people's books, books I borrowed from the library), while tags say more about the content. Both are ongoing efforts, of course ;)
