checking books out that are on hold

I have my catalog all set up and asked my husband to test it by putting a book on hold. He received an email saying he'd put it on hold (Yau!) but I'm not sure where to go from here. I have a feeling this will prove obvious but try as I might I can't see how to find the books on hold and then check them out to the person. Or at least no easy way to do so. Can someone offer me advice. The whole thing is SO slick and i am so happy with this tool it just doesn't seem possible there isn't an easy way to do so.

Hi!

Okay, first: did you get an email that a patron placed a hold? You should have received a notification. If you don't see it right away, try searching for an email from "noreply@tinycat.org". That email will notify you so you can pull the book/s, and they will also have a link to the record in your catalog from where you can then check the book out to the patron. (From the book page, there's an "Item Circulation" link at the bottom if you're logged in, and you can select the "New Status" button to check the book out to the patron.)

Alternatively, you can scan/check out multiple books at once from the Check in/out page: https://www.librarycat.org/admin/checkinout.

To find all books with a hold status, go to your Transactions page and select the "Statuses" page from the left-hand menu, then select "On hold" to view all books with that status in your lending history (either active or inactive: inactive shows up in italics).

Let me know if you have any further questions!

>2 kristilabrie: Thanks for this. It's odd, the item circulation link on the book page wasn't there but then suddenly it was. That will help. If the mail cooperates I should have barcodes arriving tomorrow and I suspect that will make everything easier. I appreciate your help.

>3 OlympiaBonsaiClub: The Item Circulation link will only show up if you're logged in as the admin on your TinyCat account. Hope that helps!
