Incorrect combining

Hi,

I think this is the right forum...

While entering my library, I found that these two books are listed as separate editions of the same thing. They aren't! Not sure how to get this fixed.

https://www.librarything.com/work/19155015/workdetails/191595482

https://www.librarything.com/work/19155015/workdetails/191593035

if it'd be useful, I can post the publisher's page for each of the books.

-regards

It looks like the two works got combined at some point. I think I have separated out all the editions, so they should show as distinct works in your library now.

thanks for your assist! it will help the _extremely large_ ;) population who owns these books.

The book descriptions are identical. Perhaps it would help prevent recombination if you flag the wrong description(s) and add disambiguation notes, explaining the difference in the Common Knowledge field.

aspirit (#4):

Those links are no longer valid following the separation (note that they still point to the same work ID).

Correct links are

https://www.librarything.com/work/19155015/book/191595482
https://www.librarything.com/work/19155017/book/191595473

which show the book description only on the first.

You can do all sorts of shenanigans by constructing links where the book and work don't actually correspond:

This is a concocted link to show how you can do this. It is not a real edition or anything in need of combining or separating.

>5 lorax: thank you.

I still suggest a disambiguation notice as the two works look so similar. I have no idea myself what the difference is.

Sukkot and Shavuot are different holidays. These are prayer books for different holidays.

>7 MarthaJeanne: okay, now I'm wondering how bad are my eyes, because the works didn't look that different to me earlier. Thanks for pointing out the titles again.

It's always hard to figure things out from a different language and culture. It always helps to connect groups of letters to meanings.

Please note that Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks is not the author as its a Siddur (prayerbook). I don't have those actual copies but i think he may be the commentator or the editor. Maybe we should contact one of these users and ask them to look in their copy to see what his role really is.

For example this book listed shows
Koren Sacks Rosh HaShana Mahzor (Hebrew/English) with Comentary by Rabbi Jonathan Sacks/Sacks, Jonathan/ISBN 9653013424 says he is the commentator.. The books spelling not mine
