'80s YA ROM Girl is addicted to soap operas

Trying to recall a funny book from the '80s (possibly late '70s, no later than '90), where a girl's love for soap operas interferes with her school and social life. She's interested in a boy, but her best friend is the enemy secretly keeping them apart, possibly named Audra.

The paperback cover had her looking at a small TV in her bedroom, I think.
