Hello everyone,
i have a problem with "Check in/out" function... Some time ago I removed my books from Librarything (because there were some errors), then I fixed it and re-uploaded it to LT.
Now, when I search for a book (in the "Check in / out" function), it finds duplicate books (one new and one "deleted"). But I am not able to decide which one is removed!
I can even borrow a deleted book ...
It is also interesting that when searching in the "catalog", this is no problem and everthing works fine.
Can anyone help me? It's really problematic and unpleasant for me.
Thank you
Tomas Suk (Ceskojaponska)

How did you delete the books before?
Reuploading a file does not delete the previous book in the system. It just creates a new record.

I used "Your books" -> "Power edit on" -> "Delete books". In my catalog "Your books" are only the new books.

Assuming selecting all books was part of your process, were any of the books deleted in any other collection?
5ceskojaponska
I selected all my books (all of them were inserted manually, because we have very special library of japanese books).

You do know that you can edit your entries, I hope. That is usually less work than deleting and reentering.

Yes... But i needed bulk edit about 300 books.

>1 ceskojaponska: So, we do keep record of any lending transactions for deleted books and mark them as such—so your lending history doesn't disappear, and you can decide to delete those transactions if you wish—but if you're finding them in the Check in/out page that sounds problematic.
Can you give me an example of a couple of titles that you're searching and finding deleted copies of? Can you verify which page you're searching and finding them on? I want to make sure I'm looking in the same exact place as you. Thanks!

Yes i find them in "Check in/out" page.
Examples:
Krajiny japonské duše
Poslední Kamikaze
Být Japonkou
They are not displayed in the public "catalog" but can be searched in "Check in / out". And it is possible to find and borrow the book, although this shows an error in the "Active Transactions".
Thank you

Tested and confirmed. I'll work on a bug report for developers to look at, thanks for your patience in the meantime! Will post here with any updates.

>11 ceskojaponska: Following up on this very old thread that fell off my radar: this issue should now be fixed! Let me know if you see any trouble.
