Hey everyone. I just joined LT and since I'm a writer & translator, I wanted to make a page for myself. After a bit of searching, I noticed there were already two separate entries for me, so I figured I'd combine them... but something went wrong, I'm not sure why, and both pages ended up getting combined into my last name by itself (Garcia).
So I've been racking my brains trying to figure out how to fix this, but I can't even find how to edit the author's name on the work page (which I'm guessing would fix the problem) :o
If someone could either fix this for me or tell me how to proceed, I would greatly appreciate it!
There are only two works:
- "Into the night" (a short story I translated into French)
- "Aaron Spelling" (a reference book I wrote)
They should both be listed under "Alexandre Garcia".
Thanks. And sorry for the mess! :o

They are both under Alexandre Garcia now, but I noticed that Into the Night's work page has you as "Alex S. Garcia". Should that be changed?
I wanted to make a page for myself.
On LT, you don't "make a page for myself". Author pages are created when someone catalogs a book. That's how the problem happened, because when the person who added Aaron Spelling did so, he used Amazon.fr as his source, and Amazon is notorious for lousy data.
In future, you can change bad data like that on the work page by using the "Other Authors" field (that includes the primary author as well).

Yeah I actually just figured it out and managed to separate it! And yeah, ideally, the translation should be listed as "Alexandre Garcia" as I use Alex S. Garcia only for stuff I write in English.

Oh! I think I know why I got this problem to begin with. It looks like "Alexandre Garcia" was already linked to "Garcia". So when I combined, everything ended up in "Garcia". So now I'm back to two separate entries. Hmm.

Thanks but this is driving me crazy LOL. That "Alexandre Garcia" page is still linked to "Garcia"... how can we change that? See how it says "Also includes: Garcia (8)" at the top? Instead, I'd want it to be linked to Alex S. Garcia...

OK! We're good! I finally managed to get it all figured out haha. Thanks for the help lilithcat!

Okay, let me be clear on this.
You want the translation showing as by Alexandre Garcia and Aaron Spelling as by Alex S. Garcia, and the two pages to be linked?
If that's the case, and since there are no other authors by either name, those two author pages can be combined.
ETA: Okay, I see you've got it! Great!
