Anyone happen to have two numbered copies and is willing to part with one for rights? Please let me know if you do!

Join the facebook group they are dealing there, it holds many members and i would say not far from all the buyers are there (so it seems)

I do find it interesting how the interest in Suntup's books seems to have dropped quite a bit over time on this forum. Maybe a consolidation is happening and all the interested buyers are now over on TDT or Facebook? I know that personally I've found his books less appealing lately.

>2 Pellias: Got one, thanks!

>3 filox: Yep, that AND because Suntup isn't a publisher.

It's a cult.

I received my numbered edition of Let the Right One In earlier this week. I am quite pleased with this one overall (in contrast with my thoughts on Neuromancer).

The capped slipcase is sturdy, not too tight and the marbled paper is beautiful.

The book looks really good in person. I wasn’t too keen initially on the render, especially on those embossed snowflakes on the leather. But it definitely grew on me when I saw it in person. The effect is more subdued than on the render. The leather itself feels fine and the cloth boards are quite shiny/sparkly. The paper is not my preferred one (Cougar Opaque), but at least it isn’t glossy like the one used in Neuromancer and Seed. That was my biggest fear.

I have some small gripes though, but they’re pretty minor ones :

- the two parts of the capped slipcase don’t use the same sheets of marbled paper. So they don’t really « fit » visually. One part of my slipcase has a light colored marbled paper, whereas the other part is really dark. The contrast is too big, and the marble doesn’t flow well from one part to the other.

- the cloth is quite coarse, probably in order to make the shiny sprinkles stick to the cloth. Reminded me a bit of sandpaper (with a softer grit obviously). Once again it’s definitely a minor gripe, but I would have preferred a softer touching cloth (like the usual Japanese cloth).

- of course my biggest disappointment is that the book isn’t printed letterpressed, but I already knew that when I bought it. And letterpress printing is becoming less and less common with Suntup as time goes on. Oh well

I think that's the main reason. In terms of book arts, Suntup seems to be mostly about presentation-style bindings now. Which is fine if that's what one is interested in. I'm team letterpress-not-mandatory-for-fine-press (needs a better hashtag), but any way you look at it, I think book design (in terms of interior layout) and printing quality is not Suntup's strong suit.

>5 Nerevarine: Did the numbered copy successfully fix the newspaper headline printing error that affected the artist gift edition of Let the Right One In? It was pages 268 and 269 in the artist edition. I wanted to ask on the Facebook fan group, but re: cult I suspect doing so would be perceived as hostile.

>6 abysswalker: Absolutely agree with what you said.

As for the printing error, I can certify it has been successfully fixed !
