Driving me crazy

I am in the process of trying to create a list of every book I have ever read and doing a good job of it. However, I have come across 2 books in my memory that I am having a hard time remembering.

The first book: I know it takes place in England. It is about a Highwayman that helps a maiden in trouble (she has siblings). In the book he hears soldiers knocking on his door and he answers it with a onion or something strapped to his head and says something along the lines of it helps with a toothache. Him and the maiden eventually fall in love and have to leave the country because the soldiers are aware that he is a highwayman.

2nd book: Talks about 2 Irish brothers. At the beginning of the book one of the brothers is actually with a married lady and I believe it takes place on Anglesey. The other brother, X, is in vengeful frame of mind. He kidnaps the daughter of man who he blames for the ruin of his family. X decides that he is not going to take the daughter back until she has fallen in love with him and his pregnant. I think in one part of the book he says, " I'll take her back when she has an Irish bast___ in her belly." She ends up being pregnant with twins a girl and boy. When X finds out what a terrible life she had while in her family home, he rushes to her side just in time for the babies to be born. He later makes a comment that "it is not his son that needs him but his daughter."

So I find that the first one is Pale Moon Rider by Marsha Canham. If someone could find a way to help me with the 2nd book.
