Out of the corner of my attention yesterday, I heard Rudy yelling at the hosts of Fox & Friends.
Here are the highlights of Rudy Giuliani’s unhinged “Fox & Friends” interview
First, Giuliani insisted that there was nothing wrong with Trump asking Zelensky to investigate Biden because there was a vast conspiracy to frame Trump that originated in Ukraine that included Biden, Hillary Clinton and George Soros. ...
The “Fox & Friends” hosts then steered the conversation back to a bombshell Washington Post story that dropped on Tuesday night in which multiple government officials blamed Giuliani for getting them into a “sh*t show” by inserting himself into diplomacy with Ukraine.
Giuliani responded to this by calling all of these officials “disloyal.” Rudy also insisted at one point during the interview that the State Department should be “grateful” that he inserted himself into diplomacy because otherwise no one would have pushed Ukraine to investigate Biden.
The hosts then asked Giuliani about Trump’s reported requests to have the Ukrainian government investigate Biden, and Giuliani insisted that the president didn’t say anything wrong before revealing that he’d had the entire transcript of the conversation, which is supposed to be classified information, read aloud to him. This is particularly eyebrow raising because Giuliani is not a government official and is instead serving as the president’s personal attorney.

A few words on Kurt Volker, who appears to be the State Department contact that Giuliani keeps telling us is in his iPhone.
He is a highly respected former G.W. Bush administration official. He is a Republican from the neocon tradition with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe; in the 90s he worked for Richard Holbrooke during the Bosnia negotiations and for John McCain as a foreign policy aide.
In 2015-16, he worked for the Jeb Bush campaign before it collapsed, then sat out the rest of election. He declined to sign the Never Trump letters circulating in summer-fall 2016 because he thought Trump might in the end need some foreign policy professionals.
In spring 2017, Rex Tillerson asked him to come into the administration and work on the increasingly complex negotiations over the proposed settlement in Eastern Ukraine. He became Special Rep to Ukraine. According to most DC foreign policy people, he was doing a great job.
But also, according to the whistleblower complaint, he was trying to somehow contain the Giuliani-Trump conspiracy to shake down Ukraine for information, the DNC servers, bespoke prosecutions, and so on.
In short, another classic case of someone going into this administration to try to do the right thing (by their lights), getting caught up trying to "manage" the madness, and in the end getting totally slimed by association with these guys. The End.

The disclosures have triggered a full-blown House impeachment inquiry, and House leaders announced on Friday that they planned to interview Mr. Volker in a deposition on Thursday.
Mr. Volker, a widely respected former ambassador to NATO, served in the part-time, unpaid position of special envoy to help Ukraine resolve its armed confrontation with Russia-sponsored separatists. Giuliani is unhinged. It's kind of funny---he became famous for prosecuting the mobster John Gotti who was arrogant as could be and thought himself invinceable. Now he's working for a guy with the same character traits.
He must know he is criminally liable for the shit he's doing. I think he's become so addicted to the spotlight that he can't help himself--he'll do anything to get on a news show and make any kind of noise. He's going to end up in prison unless he dies or kills himself.

In June, Axios broke a story about leaked vetting documents that the Trump transition team and the Republican National Committee compiled in the fall of 2016. While vetting Giuliani, they found so many red flags that he was ultimately prevented from serving at the State Department.
•Giuliani’s file was so thick, they took the rare step of producing a separate dossier to cover his extensive foreign business entanglements.

In a suite of 11 tests, the Giuliani Security & Safety site passes just 3, according to Mozilla.
“I’d love to become the person that comes up with a solution to cybersecurity,” Giuliani told Fox News shortly after the 2016 presidential election, referring to a possible position in the Trump White House. Trump appointed Giuliani as his cybersecurity adviser in January 2017.
However, the former New York City mayor can’t seem to adequately secure his own website from potential eavesdroppers.

He noted that the site, as presently configured, is little more than a “billboard” for Giuliani’s business, and since it doesn’t ask for passwords or other sensitive data, it doesn’t require strong defenses.
The site is “pretty basic,” and isn’t asking users to transmit sensitive information through it, agreed Josh Mitchell, a cybersecurity consultant at Nuix, an Australian technology firm. At the same time, if it is indeed an advertisement for Mr. Giuliani’s services, Miller questions his team’s cybersecurity acumen if “they can’t install a website properly.”
“We’re happy to see that Mr. Giuliani attempted to encrypt traffic to his company’s site,” said Max Hunter, engineering director at the nonprofit Electronic Frontier Foundation, in an email. “Manually configuring a certificate is a frustrating, time-consuming process with opportunities for embarrassing misconfigurations like this one,” Hunter said. The EFF has worked to make securing websites easier, and Hunter recommended that Giuliani check out its free “certbot” tool to do just that.

The EFF has worked to make securing websites easier, and Hunter recommended that Giuliani check out its free “certbot” tool to do just that.

To me, the answer to the question ‘‘What happened to Rudy?’’ had come to seem obvious: Nothing. Rather, Giuliani’s latest role — as the president’s letting-it-all-hang-out, unabashedly dishonest personal lawyer and shadow secretary of state — is more like a culmination, the purest expression of Rudyism yet. What has changed is that Giuliani’s style has become the dominant mode of American — and, really, global — politics.
Personality-wise, Giuliani is a throwback to an old New York type, perhaps best embodied by William Magear Tweed, a.k.a. Boss Tweed, another swaggering, domineering figure from the city’s past. But men like Tweed were creatures of their old-fashioned political machines, while Giuliani was among the first of a new breed, a publicity-obsessed, reality-defying master of resentment politics — that is, just the kind of figure who is now ascendant across the globe in the form of strongmen, oligarchs and even populist Tories. These are not men of vision, but men of appetites. They are typically unrefined and streetwise; they practice their populism with a knowing wink, issuing fact-indifferent, emotion-based appeals to their constituents, while focusing, with impunity, on consolidating their power, satisfying their hungers and enriching themselves. The evolution of the modern media facilitated their rise, and the unregulated platforms of social media have now eliminated the final barrier to their ascension. ‘‘Without Twitter, I think we’d be lost,’’ Trump told Rush Limbaugh just this month. ‘‘We wouldn’t be able to get the truth out.’’

Nor did his actions reveal some sophisticated or even cohesive legal strategy. Watching his invariably viral TV performances, it often felt as if the closest thing to a unifying explanation for his behavior was his pronounced inability to experience shame. Shamelessness is not an art or even a skill. It’s simply a way of operating in the world that informs all of your actions and interactions, for good or ill.
It’s a state of mind that he shares not only with Trump but also with a growing number of blatantly dishonest, nakedly opportunistic political figures.

Following an obsequious interview for a fake conservative news programme, the pair retreat at her suggestion for a drink to the bedroom of a hotel suite, which is rigged with concealed cameras.
After she removes his microphone, Giuliani, 76, can be seen lying back on the bed, fiddling with his untucked shirt and reaching into his trousers. They are then interrupted by Borat who runs in and says: “She’s 15. She’s too old for you.”

Hasn't it always seemed like it was just a matter of time for poor Rudy? Living his life in denial of the realities around him. The Trump cult are so sure that it's the rest of the world that are drinking kool-aid. By no means am I a fan of Pelosi or Biden or Schumer but have any of them gotten Covid yet? It's not that no democratic politicians have gotten it but their numbers are far less than their Republican counterparts and the Republican talking point that no one dies from it anymore is belied by the 2000/3000 deaths we're seeing every day now. These politicians are going to get first class treatment in less than jam packed settings so maybe they won't die but your average nabob sucking up their bullshit is going to go into a overwhelmed hospital and his/her chances are more in the pot luck category. It's important to remember that the NYSBA does not license lawyers. In New York, that's done by the court system, by the four intermediate appellate tribunals in the state. So even if he's kicked out of the NYSBA, Giuliani would still be able to practice law.
But still, it ain't good for Rudy, and it's well deserved.

Monaco did not go into detail about what else prosecutors are looking at from the partisan attempt to subvert the 2020 vote count. She said that, more broadly, the Justice Department was "going to follow the facts and the law, wherever they lead, to address conduct of any kind and at any level that is part of an assault on our democracy."
