Can we read and record middle grade books here?

You can read and record any books you want to. The books are not restricted. There are age limits on members.

"The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) severely restricts what information can be collected from children under 13. The EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) also severely restricts what information can be collected from children under 16. For these reasons, all children under 13 are prohibited from using LibraryThing, and, unfortunately, all European Union children under 16 are prohibited from using LibraryThing. Au revoir mes petits choux!"

Thanks. I'm a member of LibraryThing, and I was just looking for a group to read Middle grade or YA books.

I checked and there are several attempted groups for discussing middle school books. Never more than a couple of members, and all dormant.

None of those groups are very interesting

You are welcome to take hold of one or more and go in whatever direction interests you. Or you could start your own group. However, finding members who would join in might take more effort and time.

But just saying that you want to talk probably won't get a lot of attention. You need to write messages that people will want to respond to. Don't ask what people are reading. Say what you just finished and why you liked it (or didn't). Use touchstones to link to books you talk about (and check that you linked to the right book).

Also note that the youngest people allowed to join LT are 13. Most Middle School students are younger than that. So actual Middle Schoolers are rather few around here.

But some of us are adults who like to read MG books. (And I'm not even a teacher or librarian, though I am a YA author.)
