I'd always held the same opinion as Mr. Bagley but as I read this it occurred to me that I wasn't being consistent: 'He's a friend of mine' uses the possessive, after all, and any other 'I' case would sound idiotic. 'He's a friend of Donald Trump's' still sounds wrong to me nonetheless. (And it sounds idiotic too, although not because of grammar.)

4-5 year olds asking about gerunds? Sure, that happened. Give those kids %100$. Either someone's having a laugh or an adult put them up to it.

>5 bluepiano: The way people push kids these days, it could have been a legit question. I know parents freaking out because their kid is three and can't read yet. And in NYC, you've got super pushy parents in those expensive neighborhoods.

OTOH, maybe she's just really bad at estimating kids' ages.

On that article – the emdash usage is US specific. In the UK we use endash with a space either side.
