>2 rabbitprincess:, >3 thornton37814: Thank you! I ended up three squares short last year. I think I'll have better luck with these categories.

>5 Cariola: Agreed!

>5 Cariola: - Lovely!

>8 hailelib: Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to its cover; 3 out of 5 stars.

>10 Cariola: Ha! I used that one for that category, too!

>13 Cariola: They all match really well with your bingo markers.
15Cariola
>14 virginiahomeschooler: Good observation! I hadn't noticed that.

>12 Cariola: - How was this one? I enjoyed Autumn and will most likely pick this one up at some point.
17Cariola
>16 LittleTaiko: I really enjoyed it; posted a review if you care to read it. Lots of messages in it for the modern/techno world.

19. Meets at least two KIT/CAT categories: ColorCAT and ScaredyKIT (survival). I know the February color is brown, but I'm stretching this to include the September color (metallic).

>18 Cariola: I support this stretching of the definition -- the book I've chosen for the "fits two CATS/KITS" square also straddles different months.

>22 Cariola: I loved Texts from Jane Eyre! Such intelligent silliness.
25Cariola
>24 christina_reads: It's not the kind of thing I would usually read, but I am really enjoying it. As you said, it's very smart!

>27 Cariola: What were you impressions of this book? There's been a lot of controversy.
29Cariola
>28 mamzel: As far as the Trump stuff goes, you've heard most of it already on the cable news shows and the interview. But that really only makes up the last 25% or so of the book. I listened to it on audio. Comey is a very good writer and a good reader. It's a memoir, covering his childhood (including an episode where he and his brother were held at gunpoint in their home), everyday people who inspired him in his early life (the grocery store owner where he worked as a stockboy, a teacher, etc.), his work as a young attorney and his move up the ladder (US attorney, Assistant Attorney general, and FBI director), and personal triumphs and tragedies, including the loss of an infant son. Always at the heart of the memoir is his devotion to truth and to doing the right thing and the qualities that he feels are essential for an effective leader. Lots of inside stories about Bush, Obama, Mueller, and others he worked with. (I didn't know that he was instrumental in prosecuting the charges against Scooter Libby--probably another reason Trump pardoned him.) It's kind of a shame that reviewers will focus only on his issues with Trump, because overall, I think it's a fine memoir of a basically good man struggling to do what is right. He's going to be teaching now, primarily leadership courses, and I think he will do a great job.

Thanks for your comments. Having read Fire and Fury I think I will pass on this one - I am so tired of the Trump shenanigans and I'm not a big fan of biographies. Good on you for tackling it!
31Cariola
>30 mamzel: Well, I read Fire and Fury, and I was sorry I had bought it, mainly because I didn't learn anything that hadn't already been brought out in interviews and commentaries. As I said, most of Comey's book is NOT about Trump. But since you don't like biographies, I understand your decision to pass on it.

>29 Cariola: Interesting! My daughter-in-law is on a long list of holds for this book and will enjoy your comment. She will enjoy the book too!

>33 Cariola: I really loved The Song of Achilles. How did you find this one?
35Cariola
>34 mamzel: It's just wonderful! Even better than Song of Achilles, I think.
