Feminist author Nancy Friday died November 5 at the age of 84. She is best known for My Secret Garden and My Mother, My Self.

Italian chef Antonio Carluccio died 8th November age 80. His books include An Invitation to Italian Cooking which won the Bejam best cook book of the year award in 1986, Italian Feast, Carluccio's Complete Italian Food and Antonio Goes Wild. This last book had recipes for candied chestnut and an elderberry elixir.

Gossip columnist Liz Smith died November 12 at the age of 94. Her books include Natural Blonde and The Mother Book.

Film maker Debra Chasnoff died November 7 at the age of 60. Herworks include It's Elementary: Talking About Gay Issues in School and Straightlaced: How Gender's Got Us All Tied Up.

Director Frank Corsaro died November 11 at the age of 92. His works include Love For Three Oranges: The Glyndebourne Version, Maverick: A Director's Personal Experience in Opera and Theater and Kunma.

Economist Uwe E. Reinhardt died November 13 at the age of 80. He wrote Physician Productivity and the Demand for Health manpower.

Folk singer Katie Lee died November 1 at the age of 98. She wrote All My Rivers are Gone and Ten Thousand Goddam Cattle: A History of the American Cowboy in Song.

Museum Director Karl Katz died November 8 at the age of 88. He wrote From the beginning: Archaeology and Art in the Israel Museum and The Exhibitionist: Living Museums, Loving Museums.

Editor and author gilbert Rogin died November 4 at the age of 87. His work includes What Happens Next? and Preparations for the Ascent.

Pat Hutchins, a writer and illustrator of books for young children, died November 7th 2017 age 75. She wrote Rosie's Walk, Goodnight, Owl, The Very Worst Monster, The House That Sailed Away and One-Eyed Jack (touchstones couldn't find this one) from a total of about 40 books.

Boxing commentator and physician, Ferdie Pacheco died November 16 at the age of 89. His books include The 12 Greatest Rounds of Boxing, Ybor City Chronicles: A Memoir and Muhammad Ali: A View From the Corner.

Numismatist Eric P. Newman died November 15 at the age of 106. His books include The Early Paper Money of America and The Fantastic 1804 Dollar.

Radio personality Robert D. Raiford died November 17 at the age of 89. He wrote Who Says That? I Say That.

Former Washington power broker Robert Gene Baker aka Bobby, died November 12 at the age of 89. His autobiography was called Wheeling and Dealing: Confessions of a Capitol Hill Operator.

Former tennis champion Pancho Segura died November 18 at the age of 96. He wrote Pancho Segura's Championship Strategy: How to Playing Winning Tennis.

Actress and singer Della Reese died November 19 at the age of 86. Her books include Angels Along the Way and God Inside of Me (Jump at the Sun Books).

George Rafferty, veterinary surgeon, died November 9th 2017. He wrote The Vet – Beyond the Surgery Door.

Composer Eric Salzman died November 12 at the age of 89. He wrote Twentieth Century Music: An Introduction and Making Changes: A Practical Guide to Vernacular Harmony.

Hostess of a television sewing show, Nancy Zieman died November 14 at the age of 64. Her books include 10-20-30 Minutes to Sew and Landscape Quilts.

Chemistry professor Lilli S. Hornig died November 17 at the age of 96. She edited Equal Rites, Unequal Outcomes: Women in American Research Universities.

Prolific author and illustrator of children's books, Pat Hutchins died November 7 at the age of 75. her books include Rosie's Walk and The Doorbell Rang.

Economist Edward S. Herman died November 11 at the age of 92. His books include Manufacturing Consent and The Real Terror Network.

Joan Hess died on November 23rd, 2017. Her Facebook page changed to tributes on the 24th. Her books include Strangled Prose and she was loved by many.

David Cassidy died November 21, 2017 at the age of 67. His books include C'mon, Get Happy.

Barbara A. Mowat, Shakespeare scholar, co-editor of the Folger Shakespeare Library Editions, former director of research at the Folger Shakespeare Library, and former editor of Shakespeare Quarterly passed away on November 24, 2017. She was 83.

Besides co-editing with Paul Werstine the Folger editions of Shakespeare's works, and publishing numerous scholarly articles, she was the author of The Dramaturgy of Shakespeare's Romances.

Architectural historian Vincent Scully died November 30 at the age of 97. His books include Architecture: The Natural and the Manmade and Modern Architecture.

Australian equestrian Gillian Rolton died November 18 at the age of 61. She wrote Free Rein.

Celebrated equestrian Willaim Steinkraus "Bill", died November 29 at the age of 92. His books include Reflections on Riding and Jumping: Winning Techniques for Serious Riders and The Horse in Sport.

Former leader of the Center for Women Policy Studies, Leslie R. Wolfe died Nocember 30 at the age of 74. She wrote women, Work, and School: Occupational Segregation and the Role of Education.

Librarian, literary scholar, and short-story writer Harold Billings died November 29 at the age of 86. His books include Magic & hypersystems : constructing the information-sharing library; books about M. P. Shiel and Edward Dahlberg; and his own fiction: A Dead Church, The Daughters of Lilith and Other Tales and The Monk's Bible.
