Hello

I stupidly allowed my son to use a book for a university project that is precious to my family, and he in his wisdom thought it would be a good idea to print off some of his notes and put them immediately in the book for safe keeping, results in the printer ink imprinting on to the pages.Does anyone know how to remove it with out damaging the pages.

I replied in your other thread, but will repeat here: try a bit of acetone, using a cotton swab. Test this on a non-obvious spot first, though.

Hi
It is a inkjet printer.

>5 margo1: HP ink is water soluble but I'm not sure of other brands. Obviously, the solvent one uses depends upon the makeup of the ink. Laser printers use toner which is another beast entirely. Personally, I'd leave it alone because it is very difficult to remove ink from a page and there is a big risk you will make things worse. The type of paper matters as well. If you try a solvent, use very little on a cotton swab on a test location first. Blot and dry immediately.
