Is there someway to export our database?
in case there's a problem between Librarything hosting our records and out library's ability to access them?
or in case there's some sort of intractable problem, that we need to migrate to a different platform?

I personally would like to host a mirrored offline catalog solution that wasn't dependent upon a community wifi router. And our patrons are iffy on book checkout records, and would like them more private.

Is there any solution for this with LibraryThing or Tinycat, that allows for localization?

I found the export

is there any other localization and other concerns I mentioned that may help ameliorate?

You get what you pay for.

ya well, I figure asking once nicely makes up for the 120 reasons I have to ask about this.

I'm not sure what localization has to do with any of this, given that your library appears to be mostly if not entirely in English. There are some known issues with character set problems in the Subject field, but that's not really relevant to a "mirrored offline solution".

Edited to add:

It occurs to me, now that I have some coffee, that the OP may not have been using "localization" in the technical usage that I'm familiar with, but may have meant something like "making a local copy", in which case I think she's sorted since she's found the export.

I would dearly love to be able to localise the UI of TinyCat. I read the OP as:

1. Can we export our records?
2. Can we clone our TinyCat catalog and host the clone ourselves?
3. Could that clone also be localised?

ya, I'd like to host a tiny card catalog and checkout station.

But this is working, and I impressed our coordinator with my demonstration of TinyCat, yesterday.
