This was published on Kindle on the 15th and I started it yesterday. I might be reading this year's winner, it ticks countless boxes (actually, it feels a bit like it was pushed to make the Booker deadline). I don't think it'll be my personal winner, but it's a gripping and so far quick read (so far I'd give 4 stars) and it will earn lots of praise.
Beware of the Guardian review which spoils most of the plot.
Personally I don't care much about the Greek drama analogy, those are quite different situations and no matter how much sympathy we are meant to feel for Parvaiz and Anneeka and even Eamonn, so far my sympathies are with Isma only. Maybe a bit with Eamonn's father as well. And the aunty seems nice, but a typical novel aunty. Are they like that in RL?

I'm very glad this book turned all honest and balanced later in the Parvaiz chapter, I felt a bit manipulated in the first part. It all becomes a bit too much towards the ending (and what an ending!), but my impression right now, a minute after finishing it is definite SL and a high probability for the win. 4.8 stars. I reviewed it on my thread as it's impossible to say anything about the plot without a spoiler.

Wow. This is one of those books I couldn’t stop reading and that kept me thinking about it whenever I had to stop. I could symphatize with all main characters wile they all are so different and with diverging views on today’s world. This is now my absolute favourite for the Man Booker Prize.

I have not reviewed it, but I loved it. What a fascinating read. I really enjoyed the different points of view of the different characters. 4.5 stars.
