May brings flowers, Anne of Green Gables, Tales from Avonlea, and more as we discuss the works of Miss Lucy Maude Montgomery!

What have you read by L.M. Montgomery before? What do you plan on reading (or re-reading) this month?

I loved L.M. Montgomery and her works as a child. I read every single one of the Anne of Green Gables series, many of the Chronicles from Avonlea books, and a few other random books here and there. I also watched the movies and TV shows based on these books. Speaking of which, there's a new Netflix series coming out in May that is another version of Anne of Green Gables.

My hope this month is to re-read The Blue Castle (touchstone won't work).

I never read the books as a child, but have been working my way through the series in the last few years. Next one up for me would be Anne of Ingleside

I'm loving them so far ... though I admit I liked the young Anne's story more than the young woman she is by book # 5.

I have reread Anne of Green Gables for this month's read and it always amazes me how fresh & new this novel continues to read. I love the relationships, especially the one between Anne and Matthew & Rilla. Montgomery draws her characters so well.
And like BookConcierge in post 5, I enjoy the young Anne & her caprices much more than her stories as a young lady, though those are nice as well.
Anne, like The Little Princess and others of similar content, continue to be my go-to reading in times of stress & sadness. I hope to read more by this author throughout the summer months.

>6 rainpebble: Yes! I re-read The Little Princess a few years back now and it was so refreshingly nice to read something where good people are ultimately rewarded and the not-so-good get their just desserts.

Aww, I'm looking forward to re-reading some of L.M. Montgomery's books now more than ever!
