Having more-or-less taken a year off from LT and having survived 2016, which was no mean feat for anyone, I thought it was time to rejoin the party. (Admittedly, after 2016, the party feels well and truly over so I'm probably only turning up to help with the cleaning).
Last year wasn't a great reading year for me (one of the reasons for barely being on LT) but here's hoping for 2017. Among other things I hope to see are Donald Trump's hair divorce him and become leader of the free world (the bald human part of Trump can play Lex Luthor in the next Superman movie), Hadrian's Wall being rebuilt to stop immigration from England to Scotland (they just don't share our values and will affect the next Independence referendum) and massive lottery win for me so I can build a monument to myself on Arthur's Seat. (Think Christ the Redeemer in Rio but in Edinburgh).

>4 baswood: - it's strange but I've met a couple of English people who have moved north recently and they can't wait to vote Yes on the next referendum. The way they talk you'd think they were political refugees, which perhaps they are.

>6 Jargoneer: yes refugees from a fascist government.
