I am looking for a pattern for a windopane tablecloth. Would appreciate any help out there.

I am a little unclear what you hope the final project to look like. In Barbara Walker's stich guides you should be able to find a pattern that allows you to do a windowpane (and by this I am picturing a set of squares that are not really a plaid but more of a grid in one or two colors) like this scarf

If you are hoping for a lace tablecloth there are numerous lace patterns in walker that have a squarish shape to them. It might be called window pane or it might be a ladder lace or something similar.

Either way since they are repeating patterns I would take the dimensions of the table you want to cover and do a gauge swatch in the yarn you want to use then just do the math to figure out how much you need to cast on to get the width you need and the number of rows you need to get the length. Since these are simple repeating patterns as long as you use the multiple of stiches and rows needed to create the pattern you should be able to make your own pattern.

Now if you are hoping for a round tablecloth that is a different story. . .

Folk Shawls by Cheryl Oberle has a pattern called the Box Lace Shawl that would make a nice tablecloth if it were enlarged...
