1. The number one selling book (as of Dec. 2015) on water quality on Amazon contains huge errors. My Amazon review will be posted in a day or so, which gives several examples of the book's problems with accuracy. Title is "The Preppers Water Survival Guide." I advised the author to issue a revised edition ASAP.

2. "Eco Living in Japan" is, sadly, a greenwashing book.

3. I have yet to see any book in this genre published only as an e-book that is worth its purchase price.

4. Be wary of any book promoting aquaponics.

5. Any sustainable living cookbooks where almost every recipe uses numerous high-fat ingredients. Please see my previous thread titled Sustainable Cooking in this LT group, for examples both ways (sustainable and unsustainable from a public health point of view).

In 2017, there is a new edition out for Sandor Felix's first book Wild Fermentation, but he has listed a new co-author, Sally Fallon, whose organization has deep financial ties with the meat and dairy industry. ... be careful out there with such a "new edition" of Wild Fermentation.

Maureen, I'm a little surprised by your concern about Sally Fallon being added as a co-author to Katz's latest book. I've read both authors and find they have a common goal .... health. I've googled extensively after reading your comment and can find little that is negative about Fallon. Yes, a Weston A Price Foundation conference had meat and dairy industry sponsorship, but I can find nothing else.

BPG, thank you for your response. I am an independent writer who has a master's degree in public health, and I stand by my concern about the inconsistency of Fallon's nutritional recommendations: Her controversial opinion essays in her book are unreferenced, her background in human nutrition is minimal if not non-existent, and her financial conflicts are "yuge." Thus, keeping a note of skepticism in following her ongoing nutrition writing efforts is absolutely essential. Keep in mind, for instance, that most book reviewers also have minimal (or zero) background in either health care or public health. If you continue to disagree with me, fine, let's hear about that going forward. All I ask of Fallon-supporters is to explain that their positive opinion of her work is "Based On What?"
