I'm not exactly a "circus history buff", but it's an interest for me, and I've read several good books on the subject. My favorite is Animal Stories by P.T. Barnum. Some other recommendations are Ringlingville USA by Jerry Apps and Struggles and Triumphs by P.T. Barnum, both of which are very good. You can read my review of Ringlingville USA here.

I'm a train nut. There are two articles and a map about Ringling and other circus trains in the April 2017 issue of Trains magazine.

I also have one "oldie but goodie" about circus trains, The Circus Moves By Rail. the note in my LT file says "Boulder, CO note=Well written with great pictures. Grouping makes it easy to follow. Good descriptions of loading and unloading. " It was published in 1978.

That book sounds very interesting, thanks for sharing about it. I'd like to do some looking into it. :-)

>4 SDaisy: My 'go to' for used stuff is Abebooks. I have the Pruett printing from 1978. Looks like Carstens reprinted it as a paperback in 1993.
