hi, my first post here, I'm Francisco from Spain, I hope you excuse my poor English, I'm thinking of reading the Kane books by the great Karl Edward Wagner, but I don't know where to start, which is the best book to start with? since I'm an avid reader of horror and from what I have read in some forums, Death angel's shadow could be the best, isn't it? another thing is difficult the writing of this stories for a non English reader? I have read in English authors like Hemingway, Somerset Maugham, Laird Barron, Joe R Lansdale and by KEW the first volume of his best horror stories Where the summer ends
Thanks in advance

I'm a Wagner fan (reading most recently his Conan novel The Road of Kings), but I haven't read his Kane books. I'll be interested in any answer you receive!

I don't think that the Kane stories have to be read in a specific chronological order. Some books are novels and some, like Death Angel's Shadow are short story collections. Some Kane stories are even set in modern times. I think "Lacunae" might be one of those.
This guy did try to figure out a timeline based on events in Kane's life:

I just picked up a copy of Darkness Weaves, so I'm that much closer to reading some Kane.
