I have just taken over a dormant library at our small Lutheran church. We recently received money from an estate and can start buying new books. Most books currently in our library are at least 10 years old. I would like some recommendations of newer titles, both for children and adults, fiction and non-fiction, to buy.

I guess you're familiar with the ELCA publisher/bookstore, Augsburg Fortress, but i wondered whether the "sort by most popular" feature on their website might be useful as a start. http://store.augsburgfortress.org/store/category/244861/Books.
My own church library is also just restarting from "dormant" and our library committee will be using the consulting service provided by a theological bookseller at a nearby divinity school. They will provide us with an up-to-date list of books that should be in a church library, for us to choose from.
