Hi Friends! So I'm back after all!
I said I wouldn't make a thread in 2015 because Chloe keeps me too busy, but I just couldn't stay away!
As with last year my reading for 2015 will be unplanned and I'll be happy with finding time to read at all! I'm making a goal to visit my own thread and everyone's threads at least once a week. Hopefully I can manage that!
Hope you all have a wonderful year of reading delights!

Gorgeous topper :) I'm glad to see the both of you here. I see from Mamie's thread that little munchkin has started moving around - you are in some serious trouble now!
3scaifea
Oh, I'm so glad that you decided to start a thread, Chelle! And keep those gorgeous Chloe photos coming, please!

Good to see you, Chelle! Chloe is adorable! Starred, of course.

What a happy grin from Miss Chloe!! :-) Welcome back!

Morning friends! Glad to see you all back here!
Nate is home from police college this weekend and helping take care of The Child so that I can have some me time with my tea and computer!
Question: Can anyone teach me how I would reply to specific messages on this thread on one response box? I see on other's threads the message number and person's name highlighted in blue when the thread host responds and I haven't found how to do that. Clearly I've been away too long!
2) Hi Jenny! Yes, the little monster is now crawling and standing! So I spend my entire day chasing her around and putting her back on her blanket and picking her up when she falls over! It's exhausting really lol
3) Thanks Amber! I couldn't stay away long!
4) Thanks Kerri! I'll be around to find your thread shortly!
5 & 6) Thanks, Katie & Doc!
7) Hi Donna! Sorry, I forgot that my name on facebook is slightly different than on here. Glad you found me now!
8) Hi Suz! Chloe is generally a happy baby! Smiles galore!

Awww..so happy you decided to come back for 2015 because this way we can keep up to date with how Chole is doing...and of course the books. We can't forget about the books!
I totally know how crazy it is with a young one so just pop in when you can and no need to kill yourself trying to keep up to date with all the threads! :)

Hi Chelle, so glad you have decided to come back my dear, the photo's of Chloe are absolutely gorgeous. I have starred your thread so I can keep up to date with how Chloe is progressing and your reading, of course. Love and hugs to you all.

Chloe is just darling! What a cutie! I'll bet she keeps you VERY BUSY! My two are now in their twenties, but I do remember how valuable a stolen moment to read or watch tv was back when they were young.
20Crazymamie
I am so thrilled that you changed your mind about having a thread, Chelle!! And Chloe is adorable! So lovely that you are sharing her with us.

Morning friends! I'm catching some rare computer time while I have my lunch. Princess Chloe is taking a nice long nap after her swimming adventure this morning. I love how much fun she has there and how tired she is when we get home!
I signed her up for a program at our local library that starts this Wednesday. It will be a reading and sing-a-long type class and it's only 30 minutes in the afternoon. Hopefully she can sit still long enough! Now that she is crawling she seems to have lost the ability to sit still!
>15 alcottacre: Stasia, I hope not! It's hard enough chasing after her while she is crawling, I can't imagine her walking yet!
>16 jolerie: Thanks Valerie! I find that I have more free time now that Chloe is sleeping well and napping longer. Weekends are a right off when Nate is home from school though, but I should be able to stay somewhat updated during the week. I'm also following less threads this year so that should help
>17 johnsimpson: Thanks John! I'll try to keep adding some more Chloe photos when I can!
>18 scaifea: Thanks Amber! I think she is adorable, but I am biased
>19 vancouverdeb: Hi Deb! It's been a long time since I've chatted with you, friend! I'll have to find your thread!
Yes, Chloe is a busy little monster! She keeps me on my toes for sure!
>20 Crazymamie: Thanks Mamie! I missed everyone too much to stay away!

Yay!! You are back!! Missed the Chloe pics, and, well, you too! LOL. She is darling and look at you...posting bookish stuff! Hope 2015 is a great year for you and your family. Hugs.

We will be away this weekend at Nathen's parent's house. His brother and fiance are coming for a visit from Alberta for the next 5 days so we will finally get to do our Christmas with Nate's side of the family.
I'm about a third of the way through The City and enjoying it. Chloe has had a few fussy nights so I haven't read as much as I would have liked. I'm heading to bed soon and hopefully will read a chapter before I pass out!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend
>23 Berly: Thanks Kim! Glad to be back! Hope you have a great reading year!
>24 scaifea: Thanks Amber! Surprisingly there were only 3 other people there. Two had tiny infants who slept through the whole class and then the other had a 9 month old that crawled around with Chloe. They were really cute poking each other and crawling away from the singing. I don't blame her for not wanting to listen to my singing voice! It was fun. Chloe also had her first day care experience at the gym for an hour while I went to boot camp. She had fun and didn't want to leave when I came to get her!

Morning Chelle! Hope you got some sleep last night. I was a big fan of Koontz, in the 80s but have not read him in many many years. Glad to see he is still chugging along.

Ooohhhh.... look at those bright big eyes and that beautiful smile! Love the Chloe thread topper pic, Chelle!

Morning friends! Chloe and I are back home now and pretty pooped out! We had a great visit with Nathen's brother and his fiance. They are on their way back to Alberta now and Chloe and I plan to relax today! We've got baby book group this afternoon for a half hour and that's it!
We got a message from our Nova Scotia Realtor last night that we may have an offer coming on our house in the next couple days! Please cross your fingers, toes and anything else crossable for us!!
It's been on the market far too long for my liking and we can't move to our next stage without that house being sold!!
>26 msf59: Hi Mark! I used to read Koontz all the time when I was in high school but I slowed my reading of his books over the years. I still follow the Odd Thomas series and this one caught my eye as well. It's a decent read so far.
I forgot my book when I went to stay at my in-laws so I downloaded a library book to my phone. I finished a large chunk of The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
>27 lkernagh: Thanks Lori! Chloe lights up my mornings with her smile!

>1 ChelleBearss: Chelle if you were toying with not joining the fun this year we would have missed out on that wonderful opening shot. Chloe is gorgeous.
I am sure if prospective buyers see her they won't be able to resist her charms and will agree to any price for the property you name!

A friend of mine wrote a book and it is currently free on amazon until the 27th. I have not read it yet so I can't speak for the quality yet but if you want a free book it is available here

It becomes a whole different ballgame, Chelle! LOL. You will yearn for those crawling days...
43Berly
My oldest didn't walk for forever. In fact, I took her to the doctor because I thought something might be wrong. In the doctor's office, just as the doc walked in the door, she pulled herself up and pretty much trotted across the room. And that was that! Never fell once. And it was MUCH easier before she could walk. LOL. Good luck and enjoy!

AWEEEE! Just found your thread, Chelle and I'm just admiring little Chloe in post #1. What a beautiful expression. And just look at those huge eyes!!!
So glad to see you're returning to LT! I know that checking in here is part of my usual morning routine and I'd be lost without it. Have a great Saturday evening and Sunday too!

I AM GOING INSANE!! We have not heard anything further about the offer on our house and it's starting to drive me nuts! Apparently the couple was pre-approved for their mortgage over the phone but wanted to go in and see the banker in person and that was the last we heard ... on Thursday! It's starting to worry me that we haven't heard anything. I hope they haven't changed their mind!
Nate,Chloe and I had a busy weekend while Nate was home from school. Chloe has a thing going on with her belly, has been sick-up and she has had some trouble getting to sleep. Not sure if we fed her something that didn't agree with her or if she has a little bug. She is sleeping quetly right now and I'm hoping that she has a little sleep in tomorrow morning instead of the 5am wake up that I got today!
Tomorrow will be a sad day for my family. My parents have to put to sleep their 10 year old boxer. Layla has been sick for many years and her ailments are now making life uncomfortable for her and the vet said it was probably time for her to pass. My parents can't do the final ride with her so my Uncle and I will be taking Layla and staying with her. I feel so bad for my parents and I think tomorrow will be really hard on them.
>42 msf59: Oh Mark, I can only imagine! Her little legs don't seem strong enough for walking yet but she is standing without a wobble now so who knows! It seems like she is doing things way too fast for my liking!
>43 Berly: Ha, Kim! That's too funny! Proved you wrong eh! Gotta love kids! They all do things at their own stage and you just can't rush them!
>44 Carmenere: Thanks for finding me, Lynda! I shall go return the favour right now!!
I used to check LT every morning ... but I also used to be able to eat breakfast and have a cup of tea lol. Now I have a Chloe to chase. You'd think with all the interrupted meals that I would lose some weight!

My SIL took this with her fancy, smancy camera and I think she got a wonderful shot! Shows my goofy family!

Sorry to see about Layla, but I hope she has a comfortable and peaceful journey. It's so difficult to make the right choice for our pets, but often letting go can be the biggest gift we can give them.
I'm with Paul, hopefully they'll figure out how to find their feet soon, it must be so embarrassing for you if you go out together ;)

Chloe has decided that cribs are no longer for sleeping and instead are for standing and blabbering "mamamamamamamama". I fear bedtime these days!

So this happened today.
Someone decided that they not only know how to stand in their crib and climb on the bumper pads (which quickly got removed), that they also know how to yell "ma ma ma" instead of going to bed.
Super fun times! :-)
(Excuse the serious case of bed head!)
And I finished my second book of the year! Whoot whoot!
The Perks of Being a Wallflower was quite enjoyable and then hit me with a surprise towards the end that saddened me.
I'm still working away at The City by Dean Koontz but I'm quickly losing interest so I've picked up Not My Father's Son by Alan Cumming and I'll try reading both to break up my reading a bit. I've got one on my phone and one in novel form so hopefully that helps.

>57 alcottacre: Ha, Stasia, mine too! By the time I do all Chloe's morning care and play and get her to nap again I'm just too bagged to care about my own hair! Scrunch and go these days
>58 scaifea: Thanks Amber! Today was the easiest bedtime in a while because she was wiped out from her water babies class and from crying after a tumble before bed. She has been sleeping soundly for hours and I think she will be down for the count! It was a busy day!
>59 Carmenere: Lynda, I didn't even want those bumpers in the first place until Chloe managed to get her arm stuck through the crib rails before she had the ability to figure out how to remove it. Now that they can be used to launch herself they are gone!
>60 Crazymamie: I wish I had read that when I was younger, Mamie! I was a geek in school (are you surprised?) and I totally could have related to some parts of that book (but thankfully not some of the worst parts of it)
>61 jolerie: Oh, Valerie we had a bad patch right after we moved in December and every night was a fight to get her to sleep. No amount of shooshing, rocking, singing could get her to sleep and she had boycotted her soother when she started teething. We ended up swaddling her again for a couple weeks until I gave up and started over with the sleep training. It only took a couple nights and she was putting herself to sleep again and I was kicking myself that I hadn't tried that before going back to the swaddle. I still say babies should come with instruction manuals!
>62 lkernagh: haha, Lori! That she does!
>63 msf59: Oh Mark, I'm sure your wife thinks you are just adorable in the morning!
>64 DeltaQueen50: Welcome Judy! Yes, my time of chasing Chloe has started and I don't see it stopping anytime soon! She is trying to do things before her little legs are ready and she has tumbled a few times. Tonight's tumble was a whopper though and she actually cried for a change. She usually just shakes it off and keeps going! It's usually pretty funny and amazing to watch but tonight's little episode made me sad for her. We distracted her with a cold washcloth for her head and it become something to suck on and all was right in the world again quickly!
>65 lit_chick: Thanks Nancy! I'm up to two books finished now LOL!

Today is one of those days! I wonder how I could go about getting a coffee drip?!
Chloe decided 7am was her wake up time this morning and I woke to "mum mum mum mum mum" on the baby monitor at a very loud tone. I think she must think it's more effective to wake me if she yells it. I managed to trick her into a nap after breakfast by cuddling her in my bed and she fell asleep waving her toy. I feel that we won't be straying far from home today except for a quick coffee date with a friend after lunch.
Hope you all have a wonderful day!
This is Chloe sleeping in my bed this morning. I couldn't help but take her photo, she looked so peaceful!

I did not know that you are moving! What a stress having your place up for sale. I hope it sells quickly. Are you moving to a different area, or just a different home?
75ChelleBearss
I finished another one! Yahoo. I'm on a roll lol
Not my Father's Son by Alan Cumming was pretty great. I've enjoyed him as an actor and he is in The Good Wife, which I watch pretty regularly (But am behind in).
This was a interesting read and it kept me pretty engaged. Has some hard topics in it which wouldn't be for everyone.
I'm still working on The City and I plan to read the next Patricia Cornwell soon.
Today we are relaxing for the morning and this afternoon we go downtown to a greek restaurant to meet a friend for lunch. Nate is home tonight for the weekend so I probably won't be online again until Sunday night. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
>71 Berly: Thanks Kim!
>72 jolerie: Val, I can't believe how fast it is going! Chloe turned 8 months yesterday and she is a crawling, standing, chattering menace!! She has started to pull herself up on furniture and walk sideways along the couch. I'm not ready for her to walk yet!
>73 lit_chick: Nancy, I was hoping that she would start yelling "da da" for this weekend for Nate, but no luck lol
>74 vancouverdeb: Hi Deb! Yes, we have moved already. Nate got hired with the OPP so we are back in London, Ontario while he is in school and will be moving to Simcoe, Ontario in the spring. I haven't heard anything else about our house offer so I'm beginning to worry that they have changed their minds

Oh, you've moved already! Wonderful that Nate got on with the OPP. I suspect it must be wonderful to back perhaps closes to family in familiar territory? I do hope you will get your house sold without any further worries. Buying houses and selling houses, - especially selling houses, that is on my worst most stressful things to do. We have purchased three places and sold two and I loathe the worry of it all. I found it very challenging as we had two young sons for our first two " sells." I love where we are now, a townhouse in Richmond BC, and our younger son is moving out in November to a condo he purchased - he is getting married in July - so Dave and I and the dog will have our townhouse all to ourselves! I'm kind of looking forward to it, but I just admit that the one bedroom condo that my son purchased its a lovely part of Richmond, right by the river and Pacific Ocean ( we are just a mile away :) . It's fun to watch your kids start their own home and lives! One day for you too, my friend!

Chelle, I do hope you get good news very soon on your house. That is such an agonizing time when you are away and don't hear anything.
Happy Sunday to the three Bearss!

Thanks everyone!!
It's been a crazy couple of weeks!! Chloe is practically running on her hands and knees and she popped through two teeth this week. So needless to say not a lot of sleep has been had! She is sleeping soundly now (finally) and I am not far behind her!
I'm about halfway through reading Flesh and Blood by Patricia Cornwell and I'm enjoying it.
I've finished The City finally and did enjoy the end, although it was hard to get started.
I'll be starting the next Lee Child soon, Personal
Hope everyone is doing well! xo

Mine is popping teeth too I think which would explain the wonky sleep and fever. Or not. I never know anymore..haha!

I am quite behind on my Chloe library list! We have been visiting the library quite a bit lately as they have a nice little play area that Chloe loves. It must be very exciting to play with someone else's toys!
Chloe has finally gotten to an age that she will sit quietly and let me read her a book (or 5) at bedtime. If she isn't interesting that particular book she will wiggle until I find one that she does like and then she settles back down. She is quite the character!
Ok here are the books we have taken out of the last few weeks. Our favourites have been Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson (We've read that every night for weeks and I'm going to buy a copy), Not the Hippopotamus by Sandra Boynton & Toot by Leslie Patricelli

I love that Chloe is already developing a discerning taste for books that she is in the mood for!
103Donna828
Chloe has excellent taste in books! It is funny how they have their favorites at such a young age. When Molly (age 22 months) is here, she always chooses the same books…over and over… I will have to look for the Bear books by Karma Wilson to see if she likes them.
ETA: I requested Bear Sees Colors and Bear Says Thanks from the library. Bear Snores On is "unavailable' which I think is code for 'baby chewed on this one"! Darn.

>99 scaifea: Hi Amber! Charlie has wonderful taste in books! I hope as Chloe grows that she loves books as much as Charlie does! She had great joy in a book today, but mostly because she was playing peekaboo(k) with her daddy behind it! She kept holding the book up in front of his face (and whacking him in the face with it) and then laughing when she pulled the book away and found his face behind it. I love that she has learned to play peekaboo on her own! Her laugh is very contagious!
>100 msf59: Aww thanks Mark! I think I am overdue for a new Chloe photo, it has been more than 24 hours haha!
>101 jolerie: Hi Val! Yes, I take a ton of books from the library for her and only half of which will she sit still for. She tends to love the Boynton books and Wilson books and I think she likes the pictures and the rhyming the best.
>102 lkernagh: Thanks Lori! Yes, Chloe is quite the character! If she is sleepy enough she will cuddle and let me read anything I want, but if she is the least bit fidgety I have to read books that she has previously approved lol She is very much like her mother!
>103 Donna828: Hi Donna! Yes, it was probably chewed or lost pages. I try not to let Chloe chew on library books and will hand her one of her own or a toy if she feels like nibbling. I'd rather not have to pay to replace a chewed on library book!
Hope Molly likes the Bear books! We just requested Bear's New Friend and should get that sometime this week. I've heard that Bear Snores On is considered the best on the series but that the rest are quite good as well.

I have not visited your thread for a while and I am so delighted that you have sold your house! What a huge relief for you! It's a lot of fun discovering children's books, at least I enjoyed it when my two were young. Chloe is such a darling!

Wishing You and Nate and that gorgeous little Chloe a wonderful Sunday, Chelle.
107Berly
I have all the children's books put away now, but we sorted them into Keepers and each of my kids filled a box with their favorites...for later when they are parents. My favorite from when I was little was Little Miss Suzy about a squirrel, and Sam and Joe (or the other way around). I have not been able to find copies anywhere. Sadness...

Wishing my three favourite (if adopted) New Scotlanders a happy Easter.

Hope everyone had a happy Easter!! Nate is finished his first round of training and has left us for five weeks of training a bit north of here. He will be home some weekends but we won't see him much until May when he is finished
I have gone back to work, boooooooo!! I am quite happy to have gotten my old dispatcher job back and I started yesterday, although I was not quite ready to leave Chloe :-( Thankfully her Gramma is going to watch her until we get settled in a new house sometime in the May or June and then I'll have to start looking for daycare.
Hope everyone is having a great start to their spring and getting rid of all the snow!! :)

I'm going to be making the rounds and hope to chat with you all soon. xo

Three cheers for a return to normalcy!!! What a relief it must be to have your in-laws watch Chloe for you. My parents did the same for my little guy till he started Kindergarten and it was the best possible thing in the world. Congrats to Nate on his Graduation too!

Oooh, I'm glad you loved Natchez Burning. I have that one on my TBR mountain and the sequel to it as well. Just need to find time to commit to a chunkster that size!
Congrats on ALL the good news! :)

Wow! So much news! I would have been desolate to move away from that wonderful home in NS! I hope that your new home is perfect for you and I'm glad that things have worked out well for you. I am certainly not disappointed as far as pictures go, many wonderful photos of little Chloe to look at!
How are the dogs?
I have never had a job where I can read... not even in the library. Sigh... Glad to know that you have your old job back and that all is well.

Glad to see things are going well for you and your family, Chelle. How lovely that Chloe is somewhere that you know she is loved and safe, makes it so much easier for Mom to relax while at work!

Chelle, that is so great that Chloe gets to stay with grandparents while you are working -- and playing. Talk about win-win for everybody! I love following Chloe's progress on FB. She is such a happy little girl.

Hi Friends!
Well I am home after a week long training at our head quarters 4 hours from home. The week away from Chloe was super hard but we both survived it and it gave Nate some well needed time with her. I'm working a couple night shifts now so I should be able to get caught up with everyone this week! I've missed so much!
Nate and I get our new house on Monday! I am SOOOOOOOOOOO excited to finally have a home with our family again. We have been in limbo far too long!
I've managed to finish three books since I visited last
16) White Fire by Preston & Child
17) True Evil by Greg Iles
18) 127 hours by Aron Ralston
Hope everyone is well!

Oh, wow, I hadn't realized that you had gone ahead and made a thread for this year, Chelle. LOVE the photos!

New Chloe photos!
Our baby is ONE!! Crazy how fast this last year has gone! We are working on getting settled in our new home and Chloe is VERY helpful! She helps us unpack by opening drawers and pulling out everything we just put away. So basically I unpack everything twice and when I get tired of that I give up and wait until after she goes to bed! Needless to say not much is getting done around here!!
XO
We did manage to entertain her with a box a few nights ago so that we could get our wardrobes unpacked!

Thank you, Chelle, and the same to you. You left out one part of your summary, though--a Christmas Chloe picture!
