Someone pinch me, the Royals made it - at least to the Wild Card. It's been a LONG time.

Congratulations!!
I'm a Cubs and Twins fan . . . so will cheer for the Royals in Tuesday night's Wild Card game . . . though not sure where my loyalties will lie after that!

It's always nice when the long-suffering fans get something to cheer about. Now the Blue Jays move to the top of the list for postseason droughts. Though I don't think I'll ever be able to root for the Blue Jays for anything after what they did to my Phils in '93; that was brutal.

Before this season started I picked the Dodgers to beat the Tigers in the World Series. I think I'm going to stick with that. I also had the Dodgers beating the Giants for the NL pennant and the Tigers beating the Athletics for the AL pennant. At this point, I think it's more likely that the Nationals and the Angels are the teams they will be facing.

As a Midwest gal, I always cheer for the teams in the middle of the country. Especially because I know the TV networks would prefer that baseball games were only played in New York and Los Angeles :)
But your choices seem solid. Though this is baseball, so anything can happen!

I'm in DC now, so I have to root for what's locally being called "MARC Madness" (after the commuter rail line between DC and Baltimore) for the Series.

I find the prospect of a Nationals-Dodgers NLCS more interesting than any of the possible World Series matchups. But then, I'm an NL gal who favors pitching over hitting.

I'm a little more excited about the postseason this year, but I think it's leftover enthusiasm from the great final week of the season.

"a Cubs and Twins fan. . ." (2)

I just read today that Ron Gardenhire was let go by the Twins - - the manager of
2nd longest* tenure (13 years) of active managers. I wouldnʻt be too surprised if he caught on elsewhere in the Majors.

*2nd only to Scioscia of the ANgels

They should have fired Gardi LONG ago . . . never knew when to pull the pitcher . . . and surrounded himself with old buddies rather than good coaches. The only reason they renewed his contract this year was because last Fall they bought him a humidor and 1000 cigars to give to him when he won his 1000 game . . . but then he didn't win it last fall, so they had to renew him for this year to unload the humidor.

I'm sure he will land on his feet somewhere . . . because, baseball . . . but I wouldn't hire him for anything.

The Cubs look promising for next year . . . but then they always do . . . and then . . . well, they are the Cubs :)

So, ahem, I'd find a bunker and your prepper gear - the Royals are on fire! 2-0 headed back to KC, are you kidding me? A few more runs would be nice, though - 3 straight extra inning affairs is crazy!

And speaking of extra innings . . . how about that 18-inning Giants/Nats game yesterday?! Wow! Though I'm sad about the ending (my cousin is on the Nats grounds crew . . . I haven't had the nerve to even contact him about it :)

I can't believe how exciting this post season has been . . . and my teams aren't even in the running!

So O's vs Royals... feels very 80s. Nationals have a tough row to hoe - I'm thinking Giants Dodgers.

Congratulations to the Orioles and Royals fans! Should be a terrific series, there. As a Giants fan, naturally I'm delighted by the Giants win over the Nationals. Honestly, I think Matt Williams will be a very good manager, but he got out-managed by Bochy this week, I thought.

Giants fans are split, I think, about what to think of the Dodgers' loss to the Cards. On the one hand, it's always fun to see the Dodgers lose anything. The way I felt about it, though, was, "Knocking the Dodgers out of the playoffs? Hey, that's our job!" Anyway, Giants/Cards could go either way. Should be lots of fun games coming up.

Royals in 6... of course I am a completely biased, ecstatic and long-suffering Royals fan! I hope the Royals can continue their incredible run to four more wins.

I'll be cheering for the Royals too . . . As a Cubs fan I have to go for the underdog and the long-suffering :)

Game 7!!!! So excited, I was 12 in 1985 when the Royals last one it all - it's been a VERY long time.

Sorry the result was not the fairy tale ending, but Game 7 really was an incredible game to watch . . . though Game 6 was more fun for Royals fans :) The Royals and their fans have nothing to be ashamed of . . . there just was no getting to Bumgarner

And, as those of us who are Cubs fans know all too well, there's always next year!

With perfect timing, a pitcher can be a WS 3-game winner.
Was Bumgarner?* (Iʻm not up on the middle games); didnʻt realize the Gigantic Junta had won on this past Sunday, till 2 days later.

And b t w Yea, Rah, and Huzzah, GJ.

Havenʻt heard anyone over here "pronouns" the name: Does the 1st syllable rhyme with "Loom" or with "Rum"?

I think bum (rum) garner ended up with two wins and a save. 1 solo homer in 21 IP during the World Series alone, more than 50 IP during the playoffs altogether. And the Royals were still 90 ft. away from tying Game 7!
