I've seen several Don De Lillo and Joyce Carol Oates in the 70% off bin.

So far, I've picked up an ex-library hardcover of William Gibson's Pattern Recognition and 20% off David G. Hartwell and Kathryn Cramer's The Space Opera Renaissance. So far...

You guys are lucky - the Powerbooks branches I've visited so far have nothing good on.

Powerbooks Greenbelt has a decent discounted collection.

But here are some of my observations:
1. The editions of a number of books with 20% off discount in Powerbooks are the pricier ones. The available editions of a number of regularly-priced books in Fullybooked are cheaper when compared to the discounted editions in Powerbooks. Example: A Spot of Bother by Haddon

2. Murakami and Palahniuk are missing from Powerbook's shelves. Will this be the case for the duration of the sale? hehe. So is Garcia-Marquez.

So far, I got a hardbound copy of Margaret Atwood's The Tent for under 450, Three Famous Short Novels by Faulkner for 150.

Twas funny cause I was reluctant to get the book by Atwood, but I came across the paperback version in the shelf, and they had the same price (actually, the hardbound book was cheaper by a peso). So I went back and searched all over for it haha.

At Megamall they had a lot of Garcia-Marquez and Palahniuk. There was some Murakami, but only a couple of titles.

my spoils include susan cooper's 'the dark is rising' and 'the grey king', nesbit's 'five children and it', yet another copy of 'pride and prejudice' (i'm forever losing the ones i have), matthew pearl's 'the poe shadow', and the third edition of thomas friedman's 'the world is flat'.

if i had to tally the cost with the sale, it's set me back almost two grand. i got all of them at powerbooks live.

"Almost two grand"? One more title should get you a free Powerbooks notebook, I think. It's not that nice, to be honest, but hey, it's free with an accumulated book purchase!

William Gibson's Spook Country seems to be out of stock in most branches, so the titles I picked up since the last time include the following paperbacks:

Newton's Wake by Ken MacLeod
Good News, Bad News by David Wolstencroft

I got Pattern Recognition by William Gibson, Caught Stealing by Charlie Huston, and Blood and Gold by Anne Rice in hardbound for 99 bucks apiece!

Also got I Am the Messenger for under 300, The Thirteenth Tale for 200, and Plot Against America for 250.

And now my E-Purse total is 180. Which means I've spent 12,000 in Powerbooks in this year alone... and that's not even counting books from Fully Booked, National, and BookMooch! Sigh... I am officially cutting myself off.

I already have the Powerbooks notebook... and I don't really know what to do with it. The cover is cute, but the inside is nothing special, really. Still somehow it made me feel better for spending 2k+ on books. Powerbooks is a serious addiction for me. Fully Booked might have a wider selection, but Powerbooks is more convenient to go to, so now I've got about seven of those fancy, ridiculously expensive corner bookmarks in addition to books. Sigh.
