I found this site http://www.chicklit.nl/. I don't know if its to anyone's taste here, but it looks rather well done.

I wonder if anyone knows about it or other Dutch sites that LT should cross-integrate with?

http://www.crimezone.nl/, for dutch reviews on thrillers, detectives and horror.

For two stores:

http://www.bruna.nl/
http://nl.bol.com/

Maybe Dutch members would like to search if a title is available for order/purchase on above mentioned stores, but also on http://www.ebay.nl and http://www.marktplaats.nl/

We're going to be releasing a Dutch in-print search for LibraryThing based on Bruna and Bol. The trick is, their data is skimpy. I'm trying to supplement it with KB, but it's not working out very well.*

*KB uses a protocol called SRU, which is a bear and seems to fail on some queries for no reason.

If you want to weigh in on something, weigh in on whether Bol's subject hierarchy is useful or not. I can drop it into the LC subject system, but I'm wary of it. It's no better than Amazon's, and we don't use that.

Hm,

Bol.com's subject hierarchy is way better then Amazon's if I compare the two.

Another one you probably can use is: www.proxis.nl or

Oh, I hadn't seen them. I wonder if they have a data feed or affiliate program.

I'd love to get better data. Bol and Bruna pretty much stick to titles and authors. Bruna has publishers. Bol has better author data. But that's about it—neither even has publication years in their feed.

Proxis has an affilate program and do give the following data:
Author, Title, Type of book, Publisher, Publication date, Pages, Height, Publication place, ISBN (10), Barcode (EAN), Category, and "Also available as:" (other types)

see also (in English): http://oas2000.proxis.be/gate/jabba.homepage.ch_session?sesid=100430728&lang...

Thanks. I signed up for Proxis. We'll see what comes of it.

chicklit is not what I'd call literature.

Tim, you should talk to bol.com. Bigger than Amazon in the Dutch language region. I can get you in touch if you want.

>chicklit is not what I'd call literature.

LibraryThing is not just for the things you call literature. It's for books in general, of all types and in all genres—even ages—from Ulysses to Not the Hippopotamus!

I've got the Bol data. It's not so detailed, unfortunately. Proxis' is apparently rather better data.
