Can anyone help me identify some of the real books and authors that inspired the fictional books in Italo Calvino's If on a winter's a traveler?

...looks like that's a "no", then. ;-)
I just finished reading this myself: what makes you sure there were real books and authors behind those featured?
My thought, when finishing the book, was: how tempted must the translator (William Weaver in the case of my English edition) have been to fiddle with it!

It's been a while but there was a chapter very like Mishima and one like Marquez (and Borges with story featuring mirrors?) I thought there may be particular novels Calvino modeled his chapters on. This of course opens up a new reading list which I think Calvino hints at in the last chapter.
