Here's to the start of a new year of reading fun!

1.) The Secret Keeper - Beverly Lewis
2.) Robert B. Parker's Wonderland - Ace Atkins. I always enjoyed the Spenser books for light PI reading, so thought I'd try this one by his successor. Not bad...
3.) The Inn at Rose Harbor - Debbie Macomber

Welcome back! Was the Atkins version of Spenser very Spenser-like?

>dreneutron - Hi Jim - Thanks for the welcome! Yes, surprisingly, Atkins' Spenser was quite Spenser-like. There were a few minor differences, but overall it was quite enjoyable.

You've been doing some good reading in your absence, though! Welcome back!

Hey - Thanks for the welcome! Yes, I have been doing some good reading in my absence! Sorry for the snide remark in the previous post. I've been feeling a bit "puny" (how's that for an old-fashioned expression?) lately - having some medical issues - and was allowing it to affect my attitude. One of the absolute best books I've read in a long time is the following, which I actually finished about a month ago and somehow omitted from the list. This is one I definitely plan to add to my personal library as soon as possible!

59.) The Insanity of God: A True Story of Faith Resurrected - Nik Ripken

>10 bibliotecara: Ha! I haven't thought of "puny" in ages! My dad used to call me that when I wasn't feeling well as a kid. I get that being puny can make you a bit sensitive, too. I hope your medical issues are soon on the mend.

Yeah, my family used it a bit too! I believe my health is taking a turn for the better, thanks! It helps that I have an abundance of good reading material to keep my mind and imagination occupied. :-)

60.) The Vampire's Assistant - Darren Shan
61.) Vampire Mountain - Darren Shan
62.) Trials of Death - Darren Shan
63.) The Vampire Prince - Darren Shan
64.) Hunters of the Dusk - Darren Shan
65.) Allies of the Night - Darren Shan

71.) Werewolf Rising - R.L. LaFevers - An enjoyable new twist on the werewolf legends. I found myself looking for a sequel and being rather disappointed when I didn't find one!

72.) All-of-a-kind Family - Sydney Taylor - A juvenile classic about a turn-of-the-20th-century Jewish family. Truly heart-warming and enjoyable.
73.) River Marked - Patricia Briggs
74.) Shifting Shadows: Stories from the World of Mercy Thompson - Patricia Briggs
75.) Code Talker - Joseph Bruchac - This is an excellent Yong Adult novel about a group of heroes who have not received nearly enough recognition, in my opinion - the Navajo Code Talkers of World War II. Bruchac is an awesome writer who brings his passion and enthusiasm for Native American history and cultures to his books. This one made me want to find out more about both the Code Talkers and the Navajo language. Definitely a worthwhile read!
76.) High Druid's Blade - Terry Brooks
77.) Somewhere Safe With Somebody Good- Jan Karon - Another excellent addition to the Mitford series. I always enjoy Jan Karon's books, but the Mitford series about Father Tim, Cynthia, Coot and all of the Barlowe siblings hold a special place in my heart and my library. Of course, it's also nice that I live close to the mountains in which they are set and can readily picture (and visit) the places and the culture in which they take place.
78.) Scions of Shannara - Terry Brooks

Thanks, Jim! Sorry it's taken me so long to respond to your encouraging note! I was a bit busy with the holidays and then under the weather with a sinus infection! Yes, I barely made it past the mark this year, but I made it! Yahoooo! I've truly enjoyed the books by Gabaldon and Brooks. I also spent some time chewing on the one by Nik Ripken. I believe I'll go back and reread that one several times over the next year or two. Anyway, onward and upward in 2015!!
