I got a box of loose-leaf Twinings Prince of Wales tea, and a really nice gift set of 12 different teas from Camellia Sinensis along with a beautiful bamboo infuser travel mug from my brother. I tried the Prince of Wales tea and it is lovely, and I'm drinking the Baihao Yinzhen (白毫银针) tea from the gift set now. I'm not sure about it, but it takes me a couple of mugs to start liking a new tea.

I also bought myself some Lapsang Souchong a couple days before Christmas, which is smoked black tea. As soon as I got it I it popped up in the book I was reading, The Ladies of Missalonghi. It's certainly interesting tasting.

So cute...I've always wanted one. I didn't get any tea for Christmas but I did get some a beautiful tea cup. Although there are several sales going on now so I've given my husband a hint or two. :)

I've been drinking tea of the bamboo tea flask, and it is really, really nice. Someone really cared when they designed it. If anyone else is looking for a nice gift I recommend it.

The metal infuser basket doesn't fit in the mug tightly, by design. This means there is an air gap so the water will drain through it properly. It has a mesh on the top and the bottom so I can drink through the tea leaves for extra bitterness if I want. It's nice and sturdy isn't going to break or warp unless I really manhandle it.

The lid is magnetized so I can set the metal infuser on top of it and it stays.

The outside of the flask stays cold even when there is boiling water inside it. The metal part of the cap warms up a bit, but not too much. The water stays hot too drink for at least 30 minutes, I haven't tested longer than that. It didn't leak even when I held it upside down.

The inside of the flask is nice and smooth and looks easy to clean. I'm not too sure about the lid because it has one of those soft plastic liners that in my experience brown and crack, but I will see.

I'm not sure if the metal will rust or not, too soon to tell, but I really hope not because I will be sad.

Since we are SUPPOSEDLY not blighted by commercialism here on Holy LT, would you be so kind as to send me a Personal Message with any info you have on where or how to obtain one of these enchanting little figures. Many many thanks! -- Goddard ("Harry")

Someone who shops at our neighborhood grocery story received a kombucha kit for Christmas.  She was afraid of touching it, but Groxx and I assured her that it's simple enough.  Just make sure the tea is cool before adding the culture.

I am not, despite appearances, an ignorant person, but for what it's worth, Rozax's post reads like some sort of encrypted message, perhaps from another galaxy. "Kombucha"? -- "Groxx"? -- "adding the culture"? What have I been missing? And I though algebraic number theory and sacramental theology were tough. Does an exciting new world await me? Lord knows, I'm ready.

Groxx is my husband, and an infrequent LT lurker.  He'd have fun with the algebraic number theory (or should I make that a definitive present tense?), and I'll sit and read whatever you have on sacramental theology. In a nutshell, kombucha is lightly fermented, effervescent tea.  Unless you want it to be more fermented. For further reading, don't let the kombucha wiki scare you.  One of my bandmates found it disconcerting that kombucha culture can be used to make an artificial leather, but riddle me this: is beer culture so versatile?  I honestly don't know.

My family got "Jesus" candy from two different people, and "Scripture Tea" from another. The candies are mints in wrappers with scriptures on them, and the teabags are a pretty average black tea blend with scripture on the paper tab at the end of the string (I'm sure there's a name for that thing).

Wonder if our friends are worried about us?! :^)

Oh, and around Thanksgiving, some anonymous woodland fairy sent me a package of Pumpkin Spice decaf tea from Stash.

I got a packet of Black Magic blend from Stark Natural Artisan Teas (no, I've never heard of them either). It's black tea with coconut, vanilla, cardamom, and a touch of hazelnut. Not a huge fan of flavoured teas, but this is pleasant enough.

I didn't receive any tea, but I'm giving some: Mariage Freres Montagne d'Or for a friend.

I got some tea called Island Breakfast Blend from Stark Natural Artisan Teas (same as tardis, which is not concidence since they came from the same person). It is a blend of Assam, Kenyan, and Ceylon black teas, with mallow flowers. I haven't tried it yet, but it has a lovely black tea smell. I can't pick out anything but tea in the scent, though, so I'm not sure what (if anything) the mallow flowers add.

Yeah, it's not really tea, but I got a tin of Red Velvet Chocolate, with a rooibos base and beet root for the red and sweet. It's lovely.

I received 2 pu erh cakes, a 2010 and a 2004. I hope to break into the 2004 real soon, once the holidays are behind us.

No tea this year which is unusual...but my brother gave me a red "Keep Calm and Cary On" mug to replace the bone china one I broke earlier this year. My mother also got me a Brown Betty teapot. I've been wanting an authentic one for awhile.

I got some White Pomegranate tea from World Market - it's so fragrant and I love the taste.

I bought three packets of Taylors of Harrogate spiced "Christmas" tea simply because it was cheap (on sale). Goes well with Lebkuchen.
