I am opening this thread to post any music songs, albums or groups with particular enlightening meaning...

Just a quite trivial "feel good" song for now:

World Hold On, by Bob Sinclar.

Open up your heart, what do you feel
Open up your heart, what do you feel… is real

The big bang may be a million years away
But I can’t think of a better time to say

World, hold on
Instead of messing with our future, open up inside
World, hold on
Wonder you will have to answer to the children of the sky

World, hold on
Instead of messing with our future
Tell me no more lies
World, hold on
Wonder you will have to answer to the children of the sky

Children of the sky…
Children of the sky…

Look inside, you’ll find a deeper love
The kind that only comes from high above

If you ever meet your inner child, don’t cry
Tell them everything is gonna be alright

World, hold on
Instead of messing with our future, open up inside
World, hold on
Wonder you will have to answer to the children of the sky

World, hold on
Come one, everybody in the universe, come on
World, hold on
Wonder you will have to answer to the children of the sky

Children of the sky… alright
Open up your heart
Tell me, how do you feel

Listen now, tell them everything, right here right now
Alright, everybody, here in the world
You are all the children, alright

Together now, unite, and fight… oooh
Open up you heart, no, peace, love for everyone

Oh, no no no no no, alright, to the four corners of the world
Sing it loud, sing it loud, sing it loud loud loud
world hold on on

sing it loud, sing it proud
everybody, yeah yeah yeah yeah, oooh
Don’t take no for an answer, no no, not today

Right here, spread love, everybody join together now
One , one heart, love and unity, everybody sing
yeah!

World, hold on
Come one, everybody in the universe, come on
World, hold on
Wonder you will have to answer to the children of the sky

World, hold on
Come one, everybody in the universe, come on
World, hold on
Wonder you will have to answer to the children of the sky

Now is when the real meat comes.

Echoes Part One - Pink Floyd

Echoes Part Two - Pink Floyd

Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves in labyrinths of coral caves
The echo of a distant tide
Comes willowing across the sand
And everything is green and submarine
And no one showed us to the land
And no one knows the wheres or whys
But something stares and
Something tries
And starts to climb towards the light

Strangers passing in the street
By chance two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me
And do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
And help me understand the best I can
And no one calls us to the land
And no one crosses there alive
And no one speaks
And no one tries
And no one flies around the sun

And now this is the day you fall
Upon my waking eyes
Inviting and inciting me to rise
And through the window in the wall
Comes streamin in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning
And no one sings me lullabies
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide

The Creator Has Master Song from Karma by Pharoah Sanders vocals by Leon Thomas

THE CREATOR HAS A MASTER PLAN

There was a time, when peace was on the earth,
And joy and happiness did reign and each man knew his worth.
In my heart how I yearn for that spirit's return
And I cry, as time flies,
Om, Om.
There is a place where love forever shines
And rainbows are the shadows of a presence so divine
And the glow of that love lights the heavens above
And it's free, can't you see, come with me,

The creator has a master plan,
peace and happiness for every man
The creator has a working plan,
peace and happiness for every man
The creator makes but one demand,
happiness through all the land

Most of the music I find empowering or enlightening, is not lyrical or the lyrics are not discernable. Music itself enables us to connect..or disconnect..depending on our desires.
Here are a few that I like :

1. Wishes of Happiness and Prosperity : Sacred Spirit
2. Illuminescence by Earth Trybe
3. Secret Bliss by Afro Celt Sound System
4. Lotus Path by James Asher
5. Gift of Love I & II deepak chopra and friends
6. Arcane Voices ,odonata Amethystium
7. Light of Dreams by Brian Henke *****
8. Ancient Guardians by kevin Kern
9.Byzantium Underground by Jesse Cook
10.The Mystic's Dream Loreena McKennitt

Limiting myself to 10..LOL

"Thou art a sea without a shore,
A sun without a sphere."
John Mason (1645-94)
(sung to Thomas Tallis's tune)

And The Lark Ascending by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Who needs words?

Mythodea by Vangelis.
This is "Music for the NASA Mission: 2001 Mars Odyssey"
There is a CD and a DVD of the live performance in Athens, Greece.
I suggest that you initially listen to the CD (preferably with headphones) and only later watch the performance on DVD. The visual is very interesting, but I think it would have distracted from what was, for me, a powerful spiritual experience.

"Stand behind me and above me
With voices plaguing my deepest thoughts
And the visions, they keep coming
I keep hearing my angel fall

"In a dream without a future,
Without a breath to take away
And my resolve; a higher being
With wings of ash and eyes of fire"

(refrain)
"Don't blame me, I'm just the messenger
I don't know what this message means
Don't blame me, I'm just the messenger
I'm just the messenger don't blame me

"As things will happen in this life with no resolution,
The duality in men requires constitution.
For the shame of hatred spent might endure your sorrow
If your higher self is shackled by your binary soul"

"Creation's flaw; the angels fell
Without his grace to light our path
I am the mirror
I am the destiny
I am the herald who points the way

"The wounds I bear have left me humbled
Once a child of divinity,
But if my breathing days be numbered,
Will I bring this victory?"

(refrain)

everyone seems to be veering away from music without lyrics...all it takes is Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" a.k.a. Piano Sonata no. 14 in C# Minor. *sigh* it's so beautiful.

Walden Girl...I'm also a big classical music fan (and just started checking out this LibraryThing group...)
I like Beethoven a lot, but Mahler even more. Particularly his 2nd Symphony, though I suppose that one has lyrics of a sort.
