I'm learning Chinese, and I'm interested in stumbling my way through some of the classics (English translation on hand). But I can't handle the classical Chinese. Does anyone have any resources of information on modern Chinese versions?

Which classic literature are you looking for, I might be able to find a good translation.

It's pretty much anything I can get, but to pick something I'd really like to read Water Margin.
edit- Which I see now is in vernacular Chinese so I have no idea what I'm talking about. I took a look at it, and it's way to difficult for me to piece together.
Basically I want to get into Chinese literature, but I feel guilty reading English translations and I feel guilty reading modern novels when I haven't read any of the classics. This means I'm asking for classic literature that's easy to understand. An impossible question?
