Thanks Min -- I will keep a lookout for it!

I have downloaded the Ankh-Morpork app for ipad and it looks like a lot of fun and wasted time exploring and doing the challenges, BUT it is a huge 760mb and costs almost $20.

I am looking forward to playing with it but realise that it will not be for everyone - the sheer size and cost will put a lot of people off ... and it took ages to download.

I hadn’t realised quite how pricey it was going to be … love to hear how you feel about it when you’ve had it for a couple of weeks.

I've just received the receipt from ITunes and it cost me &14.99 so the quote must have been in US dollars.

That's a pricey and big app :(

I think I'll save my money for the paper books..

The app store is showing the UK price as £9.99. Not too sure whether to bother with it though.

No - don't. It seems to be fun and very pretty but not worth what I paid for it.

But I haven't explored many of the possibilties like the guided tour so I might change my mind.

I seem to be spending far too much time looking for the characters and achieving the achievements but it uses a HUGE amount of bandwidth compared to what I usually use; a bit scary really.

I am going to have to tap into free wifi somewhere in my local shopping centre before my IP slows me down to a crawl.

Can you explain the challenges a bit more? I hadn't realised it was a game in that way. And it requires you to have an internet connection?

There is a long list of 'achievements' such as spotting Rincewind and DEATH and completing all three walking tours of the city and visiting all the pubs.

I spent a lot of time yesterday visiting all the pubs but obviously missed one because I wasn't awarded an achievement for it. Pratchett himself is in there somewhere and I can't imagine where I'll find Sybil.

The characters appear intermittently and you have to be in the right place at the right time - more bandwidth.

I clocked up over 900 megs yesterday when I usually use about 50 per day.

Just had a message from my friend Cut-me-own-Throat Dibbler. He can supply this app for $4.75.. .. ..

Yes - but will it contain identifiable animal parts?

... And I can't blame the App for the bow-out in my bandwidth usage after all. I popped downstairs last night to the shopping arcade where there is free wifi and spent about 45 minutes looking for Foul Ol' Ron and didn't need to connect at all, so the 6 meg download has obviously given me the complete game.

But I scored an achievement anyway. I visited all the bridges looking for him just in case he had come to rest under the wrong one and visiting all the bridges gives me a brownie point.

13> C M O T says how many parts do you need? It may look like Zebra but it is, in fact, the bar-code.

14> Don't forget Foul Ole Ron is two beings, his pong is separate to him.. .. Demand an extra point ..Bugrit :o)

I hoped that Gaspode would lead me to him but followed Gaspode around for ages with no result. I don't think that the pong would show but the main characers, when I spot them, are fairly distinctive.

The game is a terrible waste of time ... bugrit!

I specified recognisble animal parts. I don't think that bar codes count

Is there a version of this App. for the PC?
I have plenty of bandwith on my cable, and have never used my monthly max.

Only if your PC has a touch screen - but maybe a mouse would work.

It is available through googleplay and if you have Googlechrome you may be able to download it.

I'd go straight to Random Harvest Publishers and ask them. If there is enough support I am sure that they would make it available for PC. Maybe they have already done so.
