Lovecraft in other media

Is anyone else interested in interacting with Lovecraft's worlds, beyond just reading about them? Shadow over Innsmouth is a fantastic story and there was a PC game some years ago based around it. I remember the scene where you wake in the night and have to run, blocking doorways with wardrobes just ahead of the 'people' trying to capture you. The rest of the game was a let-down compared to the tension of living through this scene. The game is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_of_Cthulhu:_Dark_Corners_of_the_Earth

I love all Lovecraft-inspired games, and recently had the joy of playing Mansions of Madness http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/83330/mansions-of-madness A great evening for Lovecraft fans!

There's also the role playing game series, and a good article about more recent ones here: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/08/20/cardboard-children-shadows-over-scotl...

I love all Lovecraft no pun intended themed works. The greatest compliment in one of the reviews of my first novel was "Starting Turner felt like going back to Innsmouth--and in my book, that's a good thing." (I should add that it's only the novel's prologue - the rest of the novel is more action/tension/splatter, so not recommended for Lovecraft fans at all!)

I'm a fan of the Arkham Horror board game -- very fun, at least with the right group of friends! I feel a bit sheepish for admitting it, but I have not actually played Elder Sign. However, I was delighted to find that Google Play offers Elder Signs: Omens, $3.99, for Android. I've not tried that as of yet, and plan to use my birthday Google Play credit for it -- has anyone tried the Android version of the game? Is it satisfying?

I've played the d20 Call of Cthulhu RPG, albeit not for a few years.

Not sure if movies are included in the "other media" of the original post, but I recently watched two Lovecraft-related movies, and enjoyed both: The Call of Cthulhu is set in the 1920s and made as a black-and-white silent film, which worked quite well to convey the atmosphere and flavor of the stories, I thought. The other is Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown, a biographical documentary featuring commentary by the likes of Guillermo del Toro and Neil Gaiman, along with some excellent artwork galleries. (Links lead off site to IMDb.)

I was a great enthusiast of http://www.ffproject.com/bodies.htm - though it clearly needs a revision & some fixes. I also enjoyed the full-cast aka each role voiced audiodrama version of "The Dunwich Horror", produced by Julie Hoverson, at her 19th Nocturne Boulevard. I know about "Catthulhu", and several alternatives to Call of Cthulhu. I simply do not wish to post about it here.

Have fun!
