Final 2012 ReadaThing: December 22/23, 2012 - December 31, 2012

We're getting ready for the final ReadaThing of 2012!
Now's the time to finish all those books you SAID you were going to read in 2012, but still haven't finished. :)

We will all start reading at Zero Hour UTC on Sunday, December 23, 2012 (which translates to sometime on Saturday, December 22nd for those of us in the Americas. The end time will be staggered, with the ReadaThing ending at the stroke of Midnight as 2012 ends and 2013 begins wherever you happen to be!

The Wiki is still being prepared, but for now start thinking about what you will read and post it below. Also feel free to introduce any other special themes you would like to consider beyond the obvious "Trying to finish all those books I started (or intended to read) in 2012"!

I've enlisted in the "No Timeline Readers" list as well in ''Hourly Timeline Signup''. I probably will get a lot of reading time and therefore I'll enlist into the gaps if needed.

What will I read?

First, I've got several Members Giveaway and one Early Review and they are waiting to be read.
Secondly, I joined the Santathing and I hope the books will arrive befor Christmas.
And last but not least I've got a big pile from the TBR shelf.

For this reason I'm not afraid that I won't find a book, rather that with all the family festive gatherings the reading time could run short ;-)

I'm glad you recognized Malala in this way. I signed up for an hour each morning although I will probably read much more than this. Chilly winter mornings and vacation mean I can stay in bed and read for several hours.

If we read more than our proposed time, should we fill in the times we actually read?

I really want to try and finish Don Quixote which I started months ago and then got distracted by many other books. I would also like to read the last of the Matthew Shardlake series and be up to date with that. I'm expecting an Early Reviewer book, too.

I tend to sign up for a few times, but then read at other times as well . . . adding my name to the timeline after I read.
No requirement to do that, I just like to have the record of when I read.

The goal is to keep the RaT as flexible as possible, so a variety of reading habits can be accommodated.

Well I am off a few days during that time so I think I might take this RaT to try and read some books. I seem to have fallen off the reading wagon this last half of the year.

I migth add some time but live in december is very busy here, so I will wait and sign up when i know more about the scedule. But i really like the idea!

I am so excited about this. I already filled in some slots as I know I'll be free at those times.

Probably going to be reading some Graham Greene books like Brighton Rock, The Power and The Glory, The Quiet American and/or The Heart of the Matter. That's what I have planned so far, although I have started Ulysses and will probably be hitting that as well on the side. I ain't sacred of you Joyce!

Well, Christmas is coming and I have time (at the end) to read some books: unfortunately all european, as I'm italian. In a nutshell, the two last ones from Camilleri, two ones from Marco Malvaldi and, if I still have time and willing, "The tower" by Uwe Tellkamp. I'll let you know the feeling about.

#5 what a lovely idea about Malala. it's a crazy world but I have to believe that ignorance and hatred will never win. I truly believe that education for all will make the world a better place.
I have a 2 week holiday over Christmas - several library requests have already arrived so I will definitely be participating but not sure when exactly.

Hello, everyone, I'm expecting my SantaThing books, and I have several ER books that I will be starting over the next few days so I must and WILL be reading those. I am getting close to achieving my 75 books read for 2012, so the RaT should help me with that goal. I think I have roughly 8 or 10 left to list, not to read though, I have several read and listened to that I haven't listed yet, once I catch up with that, the list will not look so dismal. Good luck with your reading, all, and most of all, enjoy yourselves. I love reading all the cozy ways folks settle down to read during these RaT's. I often get good ideas from them! And it reminds me to sit down and take some time for myself, just me and my book!

I've added myself to the "No Timeline" list -- I have plans for lots of pleasant reading of books I already own, including a couple of Early Reviewers that have been waiting patiently for me to get to them, and I'll also be listening to some audiobooks as I travel for the holidays.

I've signed up in the "No Timeline" list. And will add my name in the slots after i have read an hour or so.

I'm not sure how much reading I'll get in for this challenge. Here at the last moment we've decided to travel to North Carolina to visit the hubby's family. His mother and brother are not that well, so he's wanting to make a fairly short trip, and be back before the new year.

Still, I tend to read more whilst we are RVing, so I'm hopeful I'll manage to put a dent in a book or three.

I am signed up for the "no specific time" place and am looking forward to making a significant dent in my TBR pile. I have Robert Caro's big LBJ book to finish, also a couple of books for my real life reading group. I plan on reading books I have already rec'd as gifts from the Universe: I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou, Three Day Road by Joseph Boyden, and Sea of Poppies by Amitav Ghosh. Aren't I lucky!

Hello everyone,
I signed up for the "No Timeline Readers" list, this is always a busy time for me (this year there is also a new family member: a kitten), but I hope to find some hours to read.
On my TBR shelf there are the French version of Suite Française, Architects of Annihilation, and the Italian translation of Iron Council. I'll re-read Animal Farm (in English this time), because it's my son's homework and we like to share the readings.

Looking forward to the final 2012 Read A Thing. I've already signed up! There are quite a few books on my list that I am planning to read. (including books from my Secret Santa, and a few that I want to finish) I am glad this will be from 12/22-31. :)

Oh, I think I did sign up but if I didn't....count me in for after-breakfast reads most days!

Well I have 2 books to read so far for this challenge. I have my book club read for the month of Dec. I haven't been able to sit down and read for long periods. I also have my newest one for January. The books are:

The Other Queen by Philippa Gregory for my Dec book club read

The Heretic's Daughter by Kathleen Kent my Jan. book club read.

I may decide to pick up other books while reading these. I have already signed up for some times may add some if I get time or as I read.

i'm not really sure about what i will be reading. Most likely it will be Spotgaai by Suzanne Collins because i'm almost finished in book 2 of these series.

I'll finish The Innocent Mage if I haven't by the time the ReadAThing starts, then probably I will indulge myself and read The King of Attolia and A Consipracy of Kings

This is my first ReadaThing. I'll be reading on the train to visit family and for several days off when I get back, trying to wrap up Netherland by Joseph O'Neill and The Information: A History, a Theory, a Flood by James Gleick, and maybe make some progress with Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation by Joseph J. Ellis.

Just noticed the ReadaThing has officially started! I've been reading but I'll go sign up officially.

I'm trying to finish The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson before the end of the year. Only about 400 pages to go!

Oh, I just got steered here--wish I had gotten an earlier start, but I'm in for the remainder. I want to finish The Secret Life of William Shakespeare by Jude Morgan before the 31st, and at least one short book from my TBR stacks.
