The Costa Tea

With places like Costa and Starbucks in recent years, has tea taken second place as our social drink now? Is it fast becoming an 'old persons' drink, while the new, younger generations join their friends at the coffee houses, just the way it was in the late 50's, when cafes became all the rage for the 'in' places to gather with friends? I hope not. I love my PG tips too much.

Steepster.com, which is a "facebook" for tea junkies, is populated with all ages--plenty of twentysomethings. I think good tea is as trendy, and as classic, as coffee.

I sat with a friend in a branch of Costa yesterday. I had tea and cake; she had tap-water and cake!

My adult daughters have both recently let me know that they have come around to enjoying a good cuppa tea. It must be a maturity thing.
