Yes I have been reading this series and have thought it just wonderful.
As for where the author is taking Rachel Morgan it's hard to say. Obviously she is an extremely powerful witch and her father had tried to curb it when she was a child.
The development about her father and her childhood is a very interesting one.
I need to re-read the book I think as it's been over six months and details have gone a tad hazy now.
