Hello All,

This may sound like a weird request, but I'm looking for a certain Jeff Smith cookbook(s) that has the following recipes in them. I'm trying to replace the titles. Since I've not been able to find the books in a brick & mortar store, I've located the titles on line. But of course there is no list of recipes so I can't tell which book to order. I'm hoping someone who has the book can check the index for these recipes.

Jeff Smith Cooks with Wine: the recipe is wine jelly. Pretty sure it's in this title

Also I'm not sure if these following recipes are in the same Jeff Smith Cooks with Wine. But I know the recipes are in one of the Jeff Smith books: Garlic Garlic Chicken Garlic; here I don't know the name of the recipe but its salmon steak prepared with a fresh spinach & parsley(?) sauce.

Thanks for whatever help you can offer.

I have that one, but can't check it until this weekend. Hopefully, you'll hear from someone else before then.

Speaking of lost cookbooks, one of mine has gone missing. I went to grab my 1964 edition of The Spice Cookbook and it was gone. In it was a excellent recipe for Country Captain Chicken. If anybody could send me that recipe I'd really appreciate it.

#4 Is the book you are looking for another edition of this one, The Spice Island Cookbook from 1961? If so I will try to dig it out and get the recipe.

That looks different. This one is by Avanelle Day. http://www.librarything.com/work/211611

Thanks for checking. Maybe I've got my cookbooks confused.

>8 varielle: I've seen that precise name on multiple recipes, and they all seem to be about the same. I'm wondering if this is the recipe you're referring to:

I suspect it's not, but it still seemed worth pointing out.

It's got to be pretty close. Seems like the one I remember used raisins instead of currants. I may have to experiment this weekend.

I, too, have this cookbook, but could not locate any recipe for Country Captain Chicken in it. Here are two recipes for it (one with raisins) and some interesting history on the dish: http://www.americanfoodroots.com/features/country-captain-is-americas-curry-dish...
