I NEED NEW MANGA!!!!

I need some new manga to read. I have read Tsubasa and have recently started XXXHolic, but i am the kind of person that can read 3 or 4 manga at once. Please give me recommendations!

well I just finished a few series and i'm reading several myself. D.gray man, Trinity blood, Air Gear (my all time favorite at the moment) and fairy tail. I finished the first two on the list and i'm working on the second two.

no prob. if you don't mind reading from a computer i suggest mangareader.net. However if you have an iPad, ipod touch, or iphone there is an app called manga storm and you can read manga from your device. they have a free version of the app and one you can pay about 2.99.

Well, sure, if you want to break the law and rip off the manga-ka, use mangareader.net. Or you could buy the books legally and actually support them.

Even if you can't afford to buy all the books, you could always try your local library.

The problem with the library is that they don't always have the manga I a looking for.

Your local library not having a particular volume of manga doesn't mean that it isn't available in the library system. Most libraries in the United States participate in some form of Inter-Library Loan program, and to my knowledge this service is typically free (there may be a nominal shipping charge if they have to get the book in from far away).

Lots of libraries are part of consortia, and if a book isn't available in your local branch the librarians can get it from another branch that does have the book. Sometimes there will be a regional catalog you can search, other times it works like an ILL request. Yes, this will take a bit more work on your part, and you might have to wait a bit longer to get volumes, but the point is libraries are viable options for getting lots of series, and getting them legally.

In the digital realm, I know Viz provides a number of series in digital format. Some of the chapters are free for viewing online, others require a small fee (less than the cost of a volume of manga). Other American manga companies likely provide similar services.

As for manga recommendations, my current reading includes Kimi ni Todoke, Inuyasha, and The Story of Saiunkoku.

Emma, Azumanga, Daioh and Claymore are some I highly recommend

I looked at Claymore, and it did not hold my attention for very long.

I'd say give it another go. Its true that the first few vol's are a little slow and are more about world building but once you get to the part where they introduce the awakened one's and when some of the Claymores start to realize that the organization hasn't been completely honest with them is when it really gets interesting.

Well, I have to recommend Kingdom Hearts. It's kinda childish, but what do you expect from Disney? Ah, better stop there before I go rambling again...I also have to recommend Fruits Basket. It is EXCELLENT. I'm not sure about Inuyasha, as I've only seen the anime, but from the looks of it, it should be good. I've also heard that Fullmetal Alchemist is good a manga, but, once again, I've only seen the anime version. Hope I helped!

One of my first manga I ever read was Kingdom Hearts. Afterwards, I started playing the games and I was hooked. So excited to get KH coded.

I second the Claymore reading. I just finished reading volume 20 last night and I'm absolutely hooked. The first volume or two are sort hard to get through because of the artwork and story, but both get better.

What kind of Manga do you like? I prefer fantasy, with action and deep storylines. My favorites were Claymore, Berserk, Bleach, Cantarella and Vampire Knight. Naruto is on my list as well although it takes twenty or so volumes before the really good parts.

I'm looking for manga along those lines myself so if you have any recommendations from what you've read before I'd love to hear them :)

here's some recommendations i can think of

One Piece (I know the art can turn some people off but the story is really good!)

Vampire Hunter D
Fairy Tail
Spice & Wolf (more of a drama then action but the story's good. I'd recommend the light novels over the manga but the manga is good as well)
Black Lagoon (not fantasy but action packed with awesome story)

I looked online in the electronic cataloge of my library system and didn't find it at all.

sadly i have found that libraries will only carry manga that is teen rated or lower so titles like hellsing, black lagoon and such which have a mature rating are hard to find. probably they do this to prevent younger kids from grabbing them and seeing over the top violence and slight nudity. so your mostly going to find stuff from the viz and the old tokyo pop line

the library that I work at has quite a few M and OT rated titles... we just keep them in a completely different section than the younger rated titles. Have you asked your librarian if they have a system like that?

Skip Beat is also insteresting. Hilarious and great story. Ongoing
Eyeshield 21 if you don't mind sports manga. Awesome artwork. Complete
Kekkaishi is also good. Shounen manga with great characters and was actually done by a female mangaka. Complete
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood was also done by a woman. One of the best mangas out there in my opinion. Complete
Kingyo Sou is a touching story about a deaf-college guy who plays taiko and a high school girl. Pretty short but sweet nonetheless. Complete
Yotsubato! is something you could read for a good laugh. Very, very entertaining. Ongoing
My Girl by Sahara Mizu has gorgeous art, amazing story, and lovable characters. I highly recommend this. Complete
Strobe Edge is a bit heavy on teen relationship drama but is a nice read anyway. Complete
