Hello! I'm new here. I am reading all of Christie's crime novels in order of publication. It's very interesting to see how her writing develops, and in particular how Poirot is changing over time.

I am recording my thoughts on my blog, but will add reviews here too as I go.

Is anyone else doing this?

Welcome, Fennellbooks.
I'm also reading in order of publication, one a month. I'm about to read The Seven Dials Mystery.

Hi there:

I've been doing this since last June and so far, I've reached Murder in the Mews. In fact, I also decided to listen to her audiobooks in order (and this means re-listening to some of them). So, I'm having double fun. Are you only reading Poirot books?

I've been doing this for a couple of years now. Maybe I should join this group? What do you think?

I've been trying to do this too. You can see my progress on my WikiThing page: http://www.librarything.com/wiki/index.php/User:DaynaRT/Poirot

Are you guys reviewing the books as well? Kerry in Australia's blogosphere holds an annual Agatha Christie Reading Challenge Festival that you might fancy:

I'm reviewing them on my blog as I go. I have just finished The Mysterious Mr Quin. It's an interesting exercise, not just in seeing Christie's development as a character, but also in watching social history.

I like the reading challenge festival, I shall sign up!

Helen :)

I should have added that I am reading all books, not just the Poirot stories.

>8 Fennellbooks::

Helen,

Now you're influencing me to go back to reviewing, though it's been a while. I started reading Agatha Christie's books in order of publication in June 2010 and I'm still at it. At the moment, I'm waiting for my public library to receive The Regatta Mystery and other stories from their Inter-Library Loan service. As if that wasn't enough, I discovered Dorothy L. Sayers some months ago, so now I'm also reading the Lord Peter Wimsey stories in order of publication and... Maigret as well.

A bit, much, but I'm a voracious bookworm and a classic detective fiction fiend!

PS. Since we're a few people reading AC in order, maybe we should form a virtual book club of sorts. ;)

>4 Fourpawz2: : Absolutely! As I peeked at your profile, I loved seeing Tracy Chevalier listed as a favourite author. I adore her work and was delighted to win her latest in the Early Reviewers draw in December. I'll go back to your profile and peek some more. :)
