Happy birthday, Johann!

Bach's birthday is one of my favorite days of the year. Not only does it coincide with the vernal equinox, but my local classical radio station plays pretty much nothing but Bach all day.

What radio station are you listening to?

Bach’s birthday is 21 March under the Old System. Under the reformed calendar, which was not in use in Protestant Germany in 1685, his birthday would have been 31 March. Which also happens to have been Haydn’s birthday (he was born in the Catholic Habsburg, Empire)—and to be my birthday also. I’m ridiculously proud of this.

>2 Barton: and I think that radio station would be WFMT Chicago at www.wfmt.com. They used to play exclusively Bach on March 21; nowadays it's a lot of Bach, but not all.
