I got an email from B&N the other day stating that they're now offering rare & collectible editions as well as signed firsts and other things. Has anyone checked this out? Any opinions? I think it's a relatively new program but I wonder if there are any thoughts so far.

Haven't heard of it. I'll check it out. I did hear Lowes and Michaels were going to start selling books as the biggies were failing.

The store in Paramus, NJ sells used and collectable books, I wouldn't be surprised if they did it across the board.

I've been to the bookstore in Paramus. The selection of collectible books is fun to look at. Their prices seem fair, I don't know how competitive they are in the collectible market.

As best as I can tell, they sell (at least on-line) books from selected participating rare book dealers, whose wares are also flogged on sites like abe.com. Last time I checked, there were no real bargains to be had. You're better off just going to abe.com and taking advantage of the larger selection.
Don't know about the brick and mortor locations.
