In that case of the Koran (Qur'an), the use of author Anonymous (8) seems reasonable, since it avoids controversy. It is annoying, though, to see the empty placeholder for the author's picture. Wouldn't it make sense in such cases to use a picture alluding to the works in question, at least while LibraryThing does not directly support works by unknown authors? See the example of the Anonymous (8) author of the Qur'an an tell me what you think.

Since I'm not sure the touchstones are working, here's the author page of Anonymous (8): http://www.librarything.com/author/anonymous-8

I like that idea.

Something really weird happened. The picture was originally associated with Anonymous (8), http://pt.librarything.com/author/anonymous-8, the "author" of the Qur'an, but it is now associated with Anonymous (64), http://pt.librarything.com/author/anonymous-64! I have no idea how this happened. Some glitch in the system? No wonder the votes to remove the picture increased...

I have no problem in this case, using an appropriate image that alludes to the work is fine.
