I'd be interested to find a book that details the historiography of Herodotus vs. Thucydides and especially how each author affected later Roman historians. Does anyone in this group have any ideas for me? Or have some theories that we can talk about in the group?

Have you tried Past and Process in Herodotus and Thucydides ? Not sure if it's eaxctly what you're looking for, but it's a start.

That sounds like an excellent resource. I'll do some more checking into it since Amazon doesn't have any reviews of any kind. But a good place to start nonetheless.

Do you have access to JSTOR? There are six reviews of it in various journals in there.
