HISTORY OF MY LIBRARY

Up to 2007, the books that I cataloged here are those owned by our family; all of us love books (my late father, mother, brother, sister and myself). These books are kept in my mother's house. Collection has begun as early as 1950s (my late father's), my mother's in 1970s, and the three of us in 1980s.

Mom's collection and ours are still growing at considerable rate, but we no longer bring home our books; they deserve to sleep by our sides.

After I started my own family in 2008, I no longer record my brother's and sister's collection which have grown separately from mine, except those that I ever borrowed from them and read, just to keep track of my reading and their books that I took interest in.

Instead, I begin to catalog my husband's and little kids' books. So you can found children books in my library and scarce collection of my husband's (he's not that much a book lover, but he does read quite a lot of magazines and avid reader of news).

This is the history of my library. And as library grows along with us, I will add more stories when the time comes.

1. Books on books and reading.
2. Palestinians' memoirs.
3. Arab classics in English.

A propos de moi

I'm trained as a librarian, have been in love with books since childhood. Unfortunately after getting married in 2005 and have kid in 2006, I'm forced to slow down my reading and book collecting activities.

So in 2008, I made a resolution to start reading and collecting books seriously again; and to uplift my spirit I paid for a lifetime LT account at the end of December.
