A propos de ma bibliothèque
Though it may be on the small side (the size of some of these collections is just staggering!), I think that it's pretty diverse. The dozens of English lit classes that I have taken over the years have left me with a lot of classics, a lot of British, Irish and American lit, and a lot of drama. Dramatic lit was one of my favorite areas in college, so I have a lot of plays. The Norton Shakespeare is fabulous! I am a fan of Norton critical editions in general. I also have some non-fiction, as well as children's and young adult literature. I am hoping to collect a lot more young adult fiction as I get closer to teaching so that I can have a great classroom library. There are also several important books that have been lost or damaged over the years that I hope to acquire again someday.
A propos de moi
I am a lifelong booklover who has been reading voraciously since I can remember. I have a B.A. in English and am currently working toward a Master's in English Education (7-12). I also waitress, but only until I get a teaching job (one more year!) Some of my most favorite books/plays include To Kill A Mockingbird, The God of Small Things, Streetcar Named Desire, The Time Traveler's Wife, The Poisonwood Bible, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Faith Healer, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, just about any Shakespeare, Jane Austen, or Toni Morrison. Everything by Margaret Atwood is phenomenal, but The Handmaid's Tale is my absolute favorite. In addition to reading, I also like to spend time with my family, travel, go out to dinner, drink wine, and spend time outdoors--when the weather is nice, that is, which doesn't happen too often in central New York.
