Eclectic. It grows in leaps and bounds. I have belonged to countless book clubs and really started expansion of my library then. Then I went to library sales. Then I went to a bookstore nearly every weekend with a friend. Seems I browsed a new section each week. Every project and report in college and grad school resulted in a new pile of books for research into a completely new area or an aspect I wasn't already familiar with. I read the bibliographies and "further reading" lists of books and expand from there.

My dream is to have a room in my home as a dedicated library so I don't have to pare down my books or keep giving them away to ensure that we keep living space in the rest of our house :)

Born reader. Turned that into a well-paying job as an editor: proofreading, copyediting, and developmental editing. I am a voracious reader. I love a bit of everything. I love Ed McBain's 87th precinct novels; Dorothy Garlock's romances; Anne McCaffrey's Pern and Freedom series; Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and her newer works since "Christ the Lord"; and learning, in general. I love a light, entertaining easy read, especially if it's funny, as much as nonfiction. I have particular interests in language, religion and spirituality of all sorts, memoir, and Native and MesoAmerican history.
