A propos de moi
The late Robert S. Egan was an expert Naval Architect and Marine Engineer. His career spanned 52 years, following his graduation from the Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering program at MIT in 1954, and continuing past his retirement from federal service with the closing of PNSY in Sept. of 1995, until his death in Dec. 2006. He worked at several prominant yards, starting at Newport News Shipbuilding. He served as Head of Design at both Boston and Philadelphia Naval Ship Yards. Between BNY and PNSY, he worked for 4 years at Electric Boat, in Groton, Conn., with a short break to go to BuShips. He wrote many articles for "Warship International" and for "The Belgin Shiplover", as well as developing and teaching many courses to train civil engineers in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering throughout his career. This list is developed and maintained by his daughter, Mary.
